Cincinnati Bengals (Just Burrow In)

We were in an uphill battle to make the playoffs before the Burrow injury, now we're in an impossible situation. Bummer is we can't even tank for a top 10 pick most likely. When I say tank, I don't mean intentional losses but rather with 5 wins already we'll likely end up with 7 or 8 wins and in the middle of the draft.

At this point, I have serious doubts Burrow will ever stay healthy. After the innocuous calf injury slowed him down, he played all of 2 games at full health before a routine tackle ended his season. Our Super Bowl window could be described as either rapidly shrinking, or altogether dissipated. Glad the Bucks are having the season they are.

I think this season-ender was a fluke; he made it through 2021 with no injury. But the calf injury was 100% preventable. Gotta work on those puny calves. That will also help him avoid underthrowing Chase on deep throws, causing Jamarr to jump up awkwardly and hurt his back on the fall.

I'm not sure if any Bengals fans are watching but Jake Browning is having a hell of a game. I don't think "tank" is in his vocabulary.

"Tank" is not in any player's vocabulary. Front offices tank, not players and coaches. They want to keep their jobs.

Bengals get their first road MNF win since 1990, and I'm not sure any of their fans were even watching.
I was! Meant to pop in and say really good win after a brutal recent stretch of losses. We are at a point where some wins and experience for the younger plays will help, and we aren't probably looking at a top 10 pick anyways...so might as well win when we can and get some momentum with a slight possibility of a wildcard berth.

Just a couple of comments. Browning looked really good out there, his running ability is a big plus and what incredible pass efficiency...he kept taking short throws at first that kept getting us in first down range forcing the defense to come up in coverage. Then he torched them. That is really great QB play and he just seems to do enough things right to succeed...keep it up.

Second point is a concern, what happened to the defense and Coach Lou? We had all of our starters out there except CTB (albeit that is a big absence), yet we can't create pressure and we are getting shredded over the middle consistently. Wilson and Pratt have been absolutely lost for a few weeks and I have no idea how to explain that. Defense really needs to figure this shit out, glad we won and the offense looked good, but they can't win a shootout every week with the defense struggling.

On to a 7-5 Indy team in a very crucial game. I'm not hopeful at all we make the playoffs after the start we had and Burrow getting hurt again, but the Colts are one of the main teams vying for the final wildcard spot and dropping them up to 7-6 and us up to 7-6 would be encouraging at least. Steelers will beat a fledgling Patriots team tonight, but the Browns could fall to the Jags and there are several other games that could go our way. Need near-perfection our end and some help from others, but at least there is a chance of sneaking into one of the last wildcard spots.

Nice win. Chase Brown could be the piece they have been missing on offense. The last time they had a true dynamic threat catching the ball from the RB position was probably Giovanni Bernard.

I thought for sure Browning had fractured his thumb or something but the Bengals are still alive
