Game Thread CFP Playoff Cotton Bowl, tOSU vs Texas, Fri. Jan. 10th, 7:30 ET on ESPN

As baffling as it is to run a toss play on 2nd and goal from the 1, it had to be equally as baffling to Texas that they couldn’t punch that ball into the end zone on 1st and goal running out of the power I. They were able to run the ball pretty well in the second half and had to have felt very confident in that playcall. When JTT blew that play up, I imagine they were scratching their heads a bit.
They saw the Penn State game and knew they would have to do something different then just pure power for 4 plays they just chose poorly

Depends on the zone. But spot zone is a matter of football IQ and hustle above all else. NoD appears to be a well coached team.
both things can be true at the same time.

nd is well coached.

texas’ secondary has higher football IQ.

even simply judging by their respectable performance against our passing attack. yes, texas ultimately came up short, but what their secondary was able to do was no small feat. they forced osu’s offense to try and win on the ground.
