Not sure if he got concussed, was definitely a big hit. I suspect he wasn't 100% after that. When we got inside the 5, I was fully expecting Sark to put in Manning, which has been the tendency over the last half of the season. That and some short yardage situations, like the play where he took the hit. Breaking that tendency in such an obvious place to use him makes me think he wasn't good to go.

I think he would have helped, yes. He's been pretty effective in those situations (better than Quinn anyway). 1st and goal from the 1, I like his chances to score on 4 tries.

But let's say we score with Arch in. Ohio St then has 2-3 minutes and a couple timeouts to drive for the winning FG, and failing that, would have had an advantage in OT with UT's redzone struggles and bad situation at kicker.

So I think it would have made a difference in the final score, but was not the difference in winning the game.

JTT was the main guy on first down
Downs was the man on 2nd down
Jack F Sawyer made the play on 3rd and 4th

That’s a good microcosm of the defense right there.

Just watched the Scoop and Sawyer on the TX radio version of the game on YouTubers.

You have to love the confidence of the TX play by play guy.

On the PI on Matthews he is confident the rule is not like in the NFL where it is first down and half the distance.

Ref says first down and half the distance.

Play by play guy is like - you’re right. It’s half the distance.
