Game Thread CFP Playoff Cotton Bowl, tOSU vs Texas, Fri. Jan. 10th, 7:30 ET on ESPN

As baffling as it is to run a toss play on 2nd and goal from the 1, it had to be equally as baffling to Texas that they couldn’t punch that ball into the end zone on 1st and goal running out of the power I. They were able to run the ball pretty well in the second half and had to have felt very confident in that playcall. When JTT blew that play up, I imagine they were scratching their heads a bit.

Listening to Finebaum, Texas could and should have won this game, because Ohio State only had one big play on offense. Never mind Texas never led and at the end could only hope to tie it up. Also, Ohio State won because we have Ole Piss and Allsabummer players.

TLDR: Pawl has a big sad.
Contrast this with what Pawl says on Bishop & Frieds this Thursday at, I think, 10:30am. I guarantee conciliatoriness. "Ohio State was the better football team." "The better defense won that game." "Will Howard showed up big in the clutch." "Texas couldn't run the ball against that defense and when that happens, they lose."

All the focus, including mine, was with the 3 WRs at the top. I was expecting a rub/pick play to EE or Tate.

The call and execution on that was huge. Put the win probabiltiy hugely in the Bucks’ favor.
I actually saw the potential for something to the left, the way the defense was lined up. So I hoped we saw it too. Howard found the hole I knew could be there. Great execution.

COULD have won? Yeah, okay, sure.

SHOULD have won? They played from behind literally the entire game :slappy:
