Not sure how it's "not even close"

NextBuck;1520116; said:Wait you are actually arguing this? Come on, Santonio was a GREAT player but Edwards was the better college WR. This isnt really debatable.
Jaxbuck;1520174; said:First of all take the stupid fucking pictures to a scout or an ESPN board. As far as it not even being debatable let me just go ahead and try anyway.
Edwards 4 year career numbers
252 rec
3541 yards
39 TD
Holmes 3 year career numbers
140 rec
2295 yds
25 TD
AVG's
63 rec per year/ 47 rec year
885 yds per season/ 765 yds per season
9.75 td per season/ 8.3 td per season
That's with Edwards having Navarre and Henne to throw it to him while Holmes had Krenzel/Zwick and one good year of Troy Smith.
Holmes being the better pro tells me the inflated college stats are to be taken with a grain of salt the same as Bike Harts.

NextBuck;1520198; said:You are using Henne to support your argument? Henne was only good his freshman year because of Edwards. Henne just tossed lobs up into the endzone and had Edwards go up and get them.
Edwards had three 1,000 yard seasons, three 10+ TD seasons, and we all know that he wasnt a slouch when it came to the biggest game of the year. Edwards is only the third player in NCAA history to have three straight seasons of 1,000+ receiving seasons.
Obviously stats arent everything, but Edwards was consistent at a very high level for 3 straight years.
Was Holmes better at the big play? Hell yeah, but that is far from everything.
Also dont use Krenzel as a crutch for Holmes because Jenkins had Krenzel for two years and was a better player (statistically) than Holmes.
Shit he is the career leader in the Big 10 at TD's for a WR and holds nearly every Michigan record for a receiver. If that isnt good enough to crack the top two for a decade then I dont know what is.
Also who cares about pro production? Obviously it may be important when looking at overall legacies, but these lists are all about impact/production in college.
Also since were on the topic of pro careers, doesnt your arguement that Holmes didnt have better numbers than Edwards in college because of QB play go out the window considering that Holmes has been in a much better enviorment in Pittsburgh than Edwards. Also comparing their NFL career numbers and both have been nearly the same production wise. I do think that Holmes is the better NFL WR, but he isnt THAT much better to make me look down on Edwards college production.
Both are completely different players, but I think when a WR has three straight 1,000 yard seasons, holds the conference record for TDs, and performs his best against tOSU then we should give respect where it is due.
Holmes needs to worry about beating Jenkins for the best OSU WR this decade IMO.
Jaxbuck;1520206; said:The fact Henne did nothing but lob balls up for him to catch as a SR only reinforces my point about how inflated his numbers are. Holmes never got that kind of one man show stat padding treatment.
For 12 games a season over their careers Edwards was good for about 1.5 more catches, 10 more yards and .10 of a TD than Homes who once again had Zwick, Krenzel and 1 good year from Troy Smith to augment his numbers.
But yeah, its not even debatable.
Just like with Beanie and Hart, if I'm picking a team and get to choose WR's it isn't hard to take Holmes over Edwards all day long.
I can see from that last little picture you put in there I made a mistake trying to be respectful of you in the Tebow thread. It won't happen any more.

2. Basically Edwards should be on the list just for the fact that he is the conference TD holder for a career and didnt play in a system offense. He went through two different QB's and didn't miss a beat. He had some amazing games against his toughest opponents. How can you say the conference leader in TD's is not worthy of making a all-decade team?
3. I like the pictures. They lighten up the mood.
Jaxbuck;1520221; said:Oh, first its the cup of shut the fuck up picture and now its all good and we're buds? Fuck you you little punk.
Wait let me put this in here so its all in fun
I didn't say that, I said Holmes was better. Learn to fucking read and you won't need so many pictures moron.
I like the ones of your mother chugging cock better.
