CBS names All-Decade Team

The Sporting News named an All-decade team. They went with Leinart at QB, and James Laurinaits and Ted Ginn (KR) both made the first team.

The 2003 Fiesta Bowl was named Game of the Decade.

I find it hard to believe that they picked Laurinaitis over Hawk. Or Posluszny over Hawk.

Hm. I'd imagine that they wanted to keep the mythical "Linebacker U." in on one of the linebacker positions. And 2 linebackers from one school? They don't want to be thought of as biased toward Ohio State.

I'd have picked Hawk over Laurinaitis, too. But I agree: if this was a truly fair assessment of the linebackers, both Hawk and Laurinaitis would be on there.

I think this list is biased against anybody who played in 2009.

Oh, we haven't had that season yet? It's kinda hard to have a good All-Decade team when you haven't even seen all of the decade yet.

I think it is safe to put Ndamukong Suh on the 1st team ahead of either John Henderson or Tommie Harris.

yep.

SI's all-decade team.

SI.com

Tebow, AD, and McFadden in the backfield, Fitzgerald and Crabtree at WR, Soldja at TE. I don't like the choices of Eslinger and Hutchinson (good, but left after 2000 season) on the OL.

Hawk, Wilis and Derrick Johnson at LB.

Nuge as the kicker.

I also had an issue with this statement about Ed Reed:

Reed sealed his place in Miami lore with a season-saving 80-yard touchdown return against Boston College

The interception by a teammate sealed the game - Miami could have taken a knee and won at that point. Reed was running alongside his teammate and pulled the ball out so he could take it for a score. It wasn't a great play, it was a dumb play - the only way Miami was going to lose that game was if they fumbled that ball transfer and BC got the ball back.

How Reggie Bush isn't on there as a running back amazes me. He was the best college football running back I've seen in a long time. He actually wasn't that great of a returner so I'm not sure why they put him under special teams. The other returner besides Ginn should have been Desean Jackson. Leinart over Vince Young doesn't bother me much because Leinart was very good for three years while Young was great for one.

Mike Hart (2006 vs. tOSU):
23 times
142 yards
3 touchdowns

That defense wasnt that bad, now was it?

You conveniently chose 1 game out of 4 years, when the other 3 times he faced Ohio State he was completely shut down. I can't even remember him getting more than 3 yards in a carry against OSU any of the other three games. It's a fact...he got owned by great defenses. FWIW, 2006 Ohio State is the 2nd worst defense I have seen at Ohio State this decade, but they really didn't face a good offense until the final two games.
