Cavs 06-07 season thread

the fundamental problem of having piss-poor outside shooters, or two big men that look like rainman trying to defend the pick and roll?

I would call the same offensive play every time inside of two minutes as well when my other viable shooting options are eric snow and larry hughes.[/quote]

Sasha and Boobie provide good outside shooting, and Hughes and LBJ have been shooting well, they are just not dead eye shooters, that we need, that is why we rely on our offensive rebounds to get us some easy buckets...We need an offensive scheme of some sort, so the defense can't sit in that little zone against LBJ every time...

Everytime(the 3 times) in the series LBJ has posted up and actually got the ball he has scored...I am not talking about posting his guy up at 15 ft, but right on the block, also when he holds the ball for 10 seconds and there is no movement, that is not offense...

Vince Carter is helping the Cavs with his affection of the jump shot.

I'm really starting to like Pavs' game. Nice play on that block by Gooden. It was quite unGooden-like.

Sucks not having any pics this year.

I guess "best record in the playoffs" means a lot less when you beat a team thats missing their 2 best players in the first round. Yes, they are up 3-1 against the Nets, but the way they continue to win is pretty disgusting....theres no continuity, the game decesions have been brutal, and I don't think theres 1 "expert" out there who would say we should have won game 4 after the way we played the 4th quarter

I'll concede we're up 7-1 thus far but I believe we'll be embarrassed by Detroit once they dispose of a nagging Chicago team

Not so sure on the last line...I am thinking that we are going to see a coming out for LBJ in that series, and hopefully Detroit follows the same path they did last year after we gave them a tough series...

Brutal fouls enrage LeBron

Cavaliers star speaks up after Nets' flagrant foul, setting tone for Game 5

Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James, left, goes up with the ball as New Jersey Nets Jason Collins defends during the 2nd half of NBA Game 3 Eastern Conference semi final on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
CLEVELAND - It took a few games and some intense moments, but the Cavaliers and New Jersey Nets have finally developed some hard feelings for each other.
Their Eastern Conference semifinal series shifted into a more feisty gear with the two games in New Jersey as the Nets became more physical and the Cavs, in somewhat of a departure from recent past history, responded in kind.
It came to a head in the third quarter of the Cavs' 87-85 win Monday night, when Nets forward Mikki Moore committed a flagrant foul on Sasha Pavlovic, smashing him in the gut as he attempted a layup.
It was then, truly for the first time in LeBron James' career, he actively defended a wronged teammate by getting into Moore's face. As did Pavlovic, who was hit with a technical foul for his reaction.
As the Cavs prepared for Game 5 and a chance to close things out tonight, James said on Tuesday that he feels the Nets have an agenda to rough up Pavlovic, who has gotten credit for slowing down Vince Carter in the series.

Hughes has been shootin' the ball fairly well, but he is 1-11 in the first half...Hopefully he finds his shot at halftime...

Also nice first half out of Gibson, I would like to see him get a nice amount of minutes in the second half...

LBJ with 7 pts...We arent going to win if he only scores 7 in the second half...

please, quit defending hughes. he's been terrible shooting this entire series. the cavs are winning despite him.

game 1: 7-20
game 2: 4-14
game 3: 9-20
game 4: 7-19
game 5 thus far: 1-13

hughes is a drain on this offense. how you can call his shooting anything near decent is laughable.

Dude give it up...Yeah he is having a bad game tonite, and had a bad game 2, but those other numbers are not bad...

3 out of 5 games having good shooting nights is pretty good in my book...

well, your book must be color by number if stats of

1: 35%
2: 28%
3: 45%
4: 36%
5: 7%

constitutes decent shooting. it's laughable.
