Cavs 06-07 season thread

Wish I felt that way. I really think this would have put us over. A true top notch PG that can distribute and run an offense. Something we have never had for LeBron and company. I really thought it was going to get done and it really should have. Without him, I am not sure we can take the East, or even make it to Eastern Finals if DWade and Shaq are healthy. The Bulls are nothing to scoff at either and we know Detroit will be there.

I understand what you are saying, but Gibby has proven that he is on slouch, but he is just young and we all hope that he can hold up for a full season...

We have been playing great basketball lately with the emergence of Sasha and Gibby. We have beaten some good teams and our the most games over .500 we have been all year.

The weird thing is that two months ago we were all saying that we should just throw Sasha in on top of a trade. Now he is almost our best player. We were playing uninspired ball there for a while, but we basically got our trade when we found two guys capable of filling the roles we needed and they were on our bench...Also we got to keep Gooden, but I think with Brown seeing what Wild Thing can with Z being out, we are going to see more minutes for Wild Thing...

NO TRADE FOR BIBBY.....

The Sac Bee is reporting that Bibby stays. I'm disappointed.

With Gibson and Pavlovic coming around, this team needs help in the frontcourt more than in the backcourt anyway. To tell you the truth, I'm glad the Cavs didn't make the trade b/c Gooden would've been tough to replace.

Read this, and maybe you'll feel better:

MIAMI (AP) -- Dwyane Wade walked off the court hunched over in pain. He sat on the bench in tears as his injured shoulder was examined, then left in a wheelchair and went to a hospital by ambulance.
And with Wade hurt, the Miami Heat's bid to repeat as NBA champions is further hobbled. They may hard-pressed merely to make the playoffs.

Wade is the Heat and if he is out 3-6 weeks like it usually takes for a dislocated shoulder the Heat will have a good chance at missing the playoffs. Hell, Wade's been playing the whole season and they are only the 8th seed right now. Shaq isn't the player to carry them anymore.

They have been playing better and it shows that in order for this team to win, it can't be LeBron, LeBron and more LeBron. They win more when he has to do less. Sasha has been a stud as of late and I have always been and Andy fan. I do like Gibby although the Point is not his natural position. He is better served as a 2 Guard, but with ball handling skills. Bibby would have just put us in the best position to win this year. We don't have a lot of time to sit and wait for things to happen and players to develop. I would love to think LBJ is going to play his career here, but not sure if that is realistic. I hope they prove me wrong, but I will be surprised (pleasantly) if this team plays in the Eastern Conference Finals.

I am suprised not to see them try and make a move to get another backcourt player...

I still think if Shaq is called on to dominate a game he can, but I think he had just let Wade take over the team. If he can stay healthy I still think the Heat will get in the playoffs. It would be either the Nets or the Knicks knocking them out and I think the Heat are better than them two...Unless Kidd and Carter get their head out of their asses...

Yeah, that's why I said if they are healthy. That is terrible what happened to him. I hate to see him go down like that. At that same time I realize it helps the Cavs cause, but I don't think anyone wanted to see it happen like that. Would rather beat him on the court.

With the house Lebron is building in Bath I think he is planning on owning it for a long time. If he does bolt Cleveland for another team he will get the Art Modell treatment around here. The only way Lebron leaves is if he loses faith that the Cavs will build a winning team around him. Gilbert realizes this and seems to be willing to do whatever it takes to do that.

Beat Wade on the court in the playoffs? You do realize that referees are also on the court, right?

How funny would it be if the Pistons keep the 1 seed in the playoffs, and the Heat keep the 8 (getting healthy just in time for the playoffs). That match up would be great for the Cavs. :p
