Ira Newble shoots into spotlight

By Terry Pluto

CLEVELAND - Why was Ira Newble doing a postgame interview with a towel on his head?
Probably because he was so hot...
Wait a minute, some Cavs fans are thinking, ``Ira Newble is still on the team?''
Suddenly, everyone on the Cavaliers is having 10 minutes -- or in Newble's case, 22 minutes -- at center stage. The Cavs are playing like a team that wants to win 50 games and contend for the best record in the Eastern Conference.
Just know this, LeBron James (back spasms) didn't play and Ira Newble did -- and the Cavaliers crushed the Sacramento Kings 124-100 before 20,562 fans at Quicken Loans Arena.

Looks like another good old fashion passionate ass whupin'. I know the Griz aren't much, but it's awesome to see them finally laying an ass beating to a team they should lay an ass beating on. Another good game by Z as well.

ESPN scoreboard has the Cavs up 34 after the third. Since I'm stuck in Cleveland sports hell(Toledo), can anyone describe who's been playing well?
Looking at the box score, I'd say pretty much everybody. Struggling a bit from the line (12-19), but shooting 58% from the field, and 7-14 from beyond the arc so far. Another MONSTER 3rd quarter (35-12!).

I don't know who's playing well now. Lebron melted my tv in the 3rd quarter. :p He was throwing in heat checks like it was his job. Pretty much everyone has been playing well, but that will happen when you put up 97 in 3 quarters.

Sounds like a great game. These are always fun games to watch. One reason I hated moving to Toledo. I can live without all the Browns games, but man I miss watching the Cavs.

I really like that Z is coming around. Getting him involved can take a lot of pressure off Lebron to score early in games(because I think it's obvious he doesn't like to do that).

it's absolutely astounding the difference in this team. a lot of it is hughes at the point. while he still isn't going to sizzle the nets with his shooting, the fact that he's running the point and being involved in the offense has limited his penchant for taking terrible shots.

that, and LBJ has been unstoppable.

I just can't imagine getting Gibson back. We're playing as well offensively as we have in the past year, and we're missing our best three point shooter.

I just hope the guys don't become lax defensively now that we're scoring more. Defense is why we were able to win games when we weren't scoring, and defense will eventually beat the Pistons in the playoffs.

I do not see Mike Brown letting this team get too lax on the defensive end so I am not too worried about it.
