Cavs 06-07 season thread

Lebron is out with back spasms and Brown starts Newble??? I would have gone with Brown myself. Hopefully Brown will get more time as the game goes on. They are going to need some guys to step up, but they tend to play well as a team without Lebron.

Looks like it wasnt a bad move going with Newble...

Up 13-4 in the early going...

Hopefully the back spasms aren't lingering for LBJ...

Cavs laying a beating on the Kings...up 17 midway through the 3rd. Z's having a big night. These guys definately do step up when LeBron is out.

Yeah I just made a post at the same time as you...24 points in the first 6 minutes of the quarter is on pace for a 48 points quarter, which obviously isnt going to happen, but a great pace nonetheless...

I really like the 13-15 from the line. Only two misses by Newble, who is certainly shaking off some rust.

You also have to love the 9-17 from behind the arc...

It has been a great all around performance...

If these can play like this with LBJ on the court playing the way he is then we could be crazy good...

Anyone have any idea if Donyell is hurt or Brown just giving him most of the night off...He has only seen 2 minutes...

It would be nice to have Bibby, but I think the Cavs are better off now than they would be with Bibby, but without Gooden. With Hughes at the point this is a different team and has a lot of weapons. Hughes given them scoring from the point, with Lebron doing what he does, and Pav to give them a shooter/scorer at the other guard. When Gibson gets back he can play SG/ backup PG. It sounds like Pav will stay in the starting lineup with Gibson off the bench for now.

The Sacramento Kings' Francisco Garcia and the Cavaliers' Anderson Varejao fight for a rebound in the second quarter of Cleveland's win Tuesday night at Quicken Loans Arena.
CLEVELAND - Who needs LeBron James when the Cavaliers have Ira Newble. And Sasha Pavlovic. And Zydrunas Ilgauskas' passing wizardry.
It is pretty easy to deduce the Cavs are running hot these days, and they might well have hit their peak Tuesday night. Minus James, who was out with back spasms, the Cavs still constructed one of their finest efforts of the season to smash the Sacramento Kings 124-100.

Star also questionable for game tonight; Newble starts instead

By Brian Windhorst

CLEVELAND - LeBron James was a late scratch Tuesday night after suffering a bout of back spasms.
Cavaliers officials, who announced James wasn't playing less than an hour before tipoff with the Sacramento Kings, said James felt discomfort on Monday night. He took part in shoot-around Tuesday, but reported more pain after arriving at Quicken Loans Arena in the evening.
