Cavs 06-07 season thread

I now know how Bill Callahan felt when he called the Raider team stupid.

With 5:08 left in the 4th, the announcers said now's the time to attach the rim because the Sixers are over the limit, so I watched to see how they did in that aspect. ZERO fucking times in the last 5:08 of the quarter !!!! LeBron again took stupid shots down the clutch, as well as Hughes. LeBron didn't even score in so-called "crunch time". How fucking dumb can they get? LBJ and Hughes both took 2 bad shots apiece during the last 5 minutes and the closet we got to going to the hole was on a put back by Wild Thing on a lebron miss.

How about worrying a little less about making 'The LeBron's' movie and a little more about playing smart basketball?

How does a team shoot 22 more shots, 7 more free throws, and get 8 more rebounds and still lose the game?

Ferry better shake something up because this team is full of bad shooters.

Actually, they shot better tonight, but stupid shots in the 4th again was their reason for losing.

It's not really the best way to be playing when the best team in the NBA invades town in 3 days.

It's so frustrating to watch them play stupid time after time late in games. At this point, I'm inclined to place the majority of that blame on the coaches.
I think it's a coaching problem because they seem to have no problem getting up to play the better teams.

It has to be at least the 7th loss this year that should have been a win but was lost by stupid shot selection in the final period.

Even after the lousy play, maybe they can get their act together and snap that long Suns streak.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

CLEVELAND ? The Philadelphia 76 ers promptly deflected Greg Oden questions last night. With half the season remaining, the NBA?s second-worst team didn?t enjoy speculation that they were tanking the season by trading Allen Iverson and Chris Webber to land the Ohio State center.

Wayne Embry was the Cavaliers general manager from 1986 to 1999.

CLEVELAND ? Wayne Embry now jokes about the decision that shaped the Cavaliers for years and sealed his legacy. Embry, who guided the Cavs through some of the franchise?s most successful seasons, was honored by the club last night as part of a black heritage celebration, along with former Ohio State football stars Archie Griffin and Eddie George, plus NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson, who played for Cincinnati.

Happy In Philly
Jan 25 - Asked about rumors he could be moved again, possibly to Cleveland, Andre Miller said, "I have no idea. Right now, I like the group I'm with. I just go out there and play basketball. It's not really my personality to go out and ask for a trade. Wherever I'm at, I just try to make the best of the situation and keep working hard." -- Cleveland Plain Dealer

I read that article and THAT would be player that could make a big difference with this team. Much moreso than Sarunis Jasieifmskfisiish. Philly has some good young players. Miller doesn't fit that mold, but he sure would fit into the Cavaliers' mold.

That sounds like a much more likely scenario than trying to get Magette.

They have to get something done...

I agree that they have to make some type of move because the current mix isn't working. Gooden has been useless for the past few games and I would love to see Andy move into the starting lineup.

How about this dream group of trades-
Z and Pav to Memphis for Gasol
Gooden and Wesley to Philly for Miller
Jon3s to Golden State for Jasikevicius (ironic that he would be coming in and Z would be leaving. :p)
**note these moves work on the trade machine, but not so much in real life**

New lineup
Starters- Miller, Hughes, Lebron, Gasol, and Varejao
Backups- Snow, Gibson, Jasikevicius, Marshall, and Pollard
bench- Brown, Jones, Newble, and they would have to bring in 2 more guys to fill out the 15.

Guy claims to of went to the same high school as Z and Sarunis and says Sarunis will be our starting PG in a week or so...

He may be on our team in a week , but would Brown make him the starter? At least it would be nice to have one player on the team that's an automatic from the ft line. I'm not sure about his defense, but maybe playing with Z would be good fore him. If he's cheap to acquire, it's worth a shot.

It beats having ESnow at the pg...

Sarunis/Gibby/Jones would make a better combo at the pg than we have now...

Personally, I think Eric Snow gets a bad rep.....he does what he's supposed to...gets our offense into sets, plays solid d, and only shoots when hes wide open......Last year against the Pistons in the playoffs we were lost on the court without him....Chauncey Billups abused everyone not named Eric Snow who tried guarding him.....This team lacks an identity offensively, and it may be b/c Eric isn't a scoring threat, but I believe its a deeper issue than that.....Our offensive system is just too vanilla and we have the athletes to let loose if the reigns were taken off IMO
