I couldn't find it...

Hoops on Hoops: Jennings Takes Over Rucker Park

As usual Hannibal and sidekick Bobbito made it fun for everybody, coming up with nicknames for players like Jennings ("The Take Over"), Stephenson ("Born Ready," "Sir Lancelot" and "The Black Knight") point guard Kemba Walker of Rice ("EZ Pass"), Jrue ("Doc") Holiday and 7-1 B. J. Mullens of Canal, Ohio, Winchester, ("That 70's Show" -- because he's an Aston Kutscher look-a-like).

Walker (a UConn commit who scored 16 points and was the best perimeter defender in the game), Mullens (Ohio State commit who had 14 and went way over the rim to slam home a missed shot), 6-8 Devin Ebanks of St. Thomas More (Indiana commit, 8), junior guard Kenny Boynton of Plantation, Fla. (17), 6-6 guard Demar Derozan of Compton (USC commit, who had 26 and finished off an alley oop pass from Jennings on the first play to set the tone for the game), center Samuels (Louisville commit, 21) and junior guard Dexter Strickland of St. Patrick's (14) also left strong impressions

not yet, thump. it may never be. don't worry. a link for the video of the whole game will be given when it comes out. it should be shortly... i think. you may even see me on it. :paranoid:

i was told that bj wanted to thank "the osu fan" for showing up to support him. i got all nerved out and didn't go up to say hello and get my picture taken with him. stupid, stupid, stupid. :smash:

edit: well, my camera died on me just as i was walking out onto the court, so it's not as though i could have gotten a picture taken with him anyway. still, it was asinine of me not to at least say hello. i'm a dumbass.

There is a picture in the Bucknuts basketball forum showing how high he was over the rim but no video. If you go over there don't stay too long:biggrin:
if you're talking about the one posted by cavsfan, that's not it. for one, rucker is outdoors. two, he was much higher than that... if you can believe it. trust me, it was absolutely sick! when a white boy gets the rucker crowd on their feet hooting and hollering, you know it's special. it brought the house down. seriously, i got shivers. i'm officially gaga over mullens... not that there's anything wrong with that.

are you referring to another pic that i haven't found, litl?

155th and FDB in Washington Heights...represent.
harlem is nicer than the bad rap that it gets. as much as giuliani may be disregarded, he cleaned up the city... a lot. harlem is a decent place. of course, there are some bad spots, but there are some rough spots in, say, grandview, too. i actually lived in da hood of g'view for a few months. it was rough... dogs pooping on my yard 'n stuff.

I'm pretty stupid:). I looked at the top 10 dunks on YouTube and obviously Rucker Park is outside but none of the top 10 dunks on YouTube were not BJ.

I would find it hard to believe that he was higher than on the picture posted by 89. He must have been close to the top of the backboard on the one you saw.

Lived on both Arthur Ave in the Bronx and Gramatan Ave in Fleetwood and I know what you mean...

Rough day on Arthur = gunshots
Rough day on Gramatan= line at Starbucks

I would totally be recruiting Kevin Jones to OSU if I was still living in the 300 building in Mount Vernon...I'd be violating all kinds of NCAA rules and stuff.

it wasn't just his height. it was the fact that he was completely stretched to get the ball, he caught it more with his fingers than his palm to wrist, and he caught it ways away from the basket. the dunk itself wasn't forceful. it was his extremely athleticism of the one-handed high catch and jam of a ball almost no one else could even touch. of course, by next week i'll be telling people that he also took a penny off the top of the backboard for the same alley oop dunk... wearing flip-flops... and eating a hot dog.

such is the legend of bj mullens.

You need to write a song with that title Buckguy. "the legend of bj mullens"

I thought he was half black.
if so, he's half black, half amazing. regardless, i guarantee you that the rucker crowd thought he was white. in fact, i remember some crowd members around me referring to him as "that white boy." as in, "man, that white boy can jump" and "that white boy can ball." seriously, that's what i heard.

B.J. Mullens is really good

hoops future
OK, so maybe this one sounds obvious. Nearly every recruiting service has Mullens, a center at Canal Winchester (Canal Winchester, Ohio) rated in or right around the top 10 in the Class of 2008. And he?s an Ohio State recruit, and Thad Matta seems to know a thing or two about coaching big men.

With all that said, I was pleasantly surprised with the performance Mullens put on in the guard-dominated game at Rucker Park. I must have just seen the wrong Mullens games out in Las Vegas, because he didn?t really stand out when I caught him on the AAU circuit. I saw flashes, but I was left wanting more.

Not this time. Mullens? ability to run the floor is rare in a player his size and he has developed the strength to finish down low. But it?s his athleticism that sets him apart. Mullens had the dunk of the game, going high up to corral an alley-oop pass from Jrue Holiday and throw it down with one hand, a la Grant Hill in the 1991 Final Four.

Make no mistake. Mullens is the real deal.

Continued (other players)...
the dunk should now be called The Dunk. it was that good.
