Norm Chow would have been cool, but now he's at UCLA....that should make for an interesting matchup between USC AND UCLA....... what about Ted Ginn Sr. as OC????:osu:
He won't leave Glenville/high school coaching... he impacts too many lives at that level.

Not gonna happen. Jim's NEVER going to let Bollman go or give up control over the offense.

Agreed.... Jim is not a man who will let any of his staff go. They will have to make that decision on thier own. Does anybody remember Brett Musburger makint a comment about Tressel being the "best play calling coach in college football" I think it was the Michigan game of 2006, but i am not sure. At that time, i thought maybe just for the game with michigan but the other games were questionable. I think the chemistry is just not thier with the offensive line play. Maybe the intensity level is over the level or then again the O/line still has to make adjustments to Pryor. Who Knows.

Play calling is over-rated..Mike martz is a genius with the Rams and was a dud with the Lions. Talent and execution trumps everything. I've said it before JT made the calls for TS and Ck includung Holy Buckeye.but he watches practice every day if the offense never completes a fade in practice it would be insane to call it in the game . JT calls plays he is confident the team can execute, it takes all eleven working together to make a play work..the QB and coach take most of the blame like it or not. JT would not of replaced TB if he thought the team was capable of performing at a level needed to win games. Having Srs. is a double edged sword for a coach you have experience but they know its their last year and may lose interest if things don't run smooth.

Tressel will call the plays that he feels will work the best or those that will set up the defense for something later on in the game.

The fact that the play calling has been so bland and the plays themselves lacking imagination should point you to the personnel/execution/confidence department.

That's been my belief all along. You can point to the OC or coaching all you want, but if the team doesn't execute during the week, there's no way that it's getting called on Saturday.

Now, that said... something can be said for preparing the team so that they can execute. This is the thing that has me scratching my head. It's hard to believe that for as long as this team has been together that they are having a problem executing some of the plays that we're not seeing. The last time that the playbook was wide open we were stocked with playmakers. Not to bash anyone, but at a few of the skill positions, there's a full step difference between some of the guys from then and the guys on the field now. Difficulties on the O-line, in my opinion, may be a contributing factor as well.

Just have to trust the coaches. Given how wide open the playbook as been in the past, there is no reason for me to believe that the coaches don't know how to call the plays... there is a reason for it. We've just not been explicitly told the reason. My feeling is that it's pretty clear what is at issue here and we just have to trust the coaches on this.

All in due time.
