Buckeye Offensive Coordinator Discussion (merged)

Who said he will be available?

I assume he will be coaching the Rams next year.

I have no idea who I'd want as a coordinator b/c I don't know everyone who is available.

I never said he will be available..I didnt mean for it to sound that way at least... I guess the question Im asking is who would you like to be calling the plays for the buckeyes next year?

Cooper wasnt that bad of a coach, he had problems winning the big games as we all know but Cooper is a buckeye through and through none the less.

The point of this post was to get names of potential OC's out there and I was curious to see what people would want. Is JT ok? Could we get Walt Harris back? What about an NFL coach? etc etc

I could have sworn I heard the guy on Sports Bash on the way home say they canned him. He did send in some offensive plays from his hospital bed during the game this weekend and the front office wouldn't convey the message to the sideline. That's pretty funny.

Mortensen on ESPN said that Martz was gone, but it's not official yet.

I guess this question will never go away entirely until we win another National Championship soon, but how many of you out there would like to see Coach Tressel get a true bonafied Offensive Co-Ordinator for his staff.

It seems we all are satisfied with J/T as our headball coach but even myself that i am, feel that something has to happen quick. I am not taking anything away from Jon Petersen nor Jim Bollman at what they are achieving but the way college football is headed, i think Ohio State has to go down a new road if they are to remain in the hunt for national championships.

USC has found new sucess under Pete Carroll. Notre Dame is on the same road with Charlie Wiess. Iowa with Kirk Ferrance was... but has slipped abit. The point i make here is that all of the above have solid bonifide Pro football experience. To me ,it seems to be the trend of setting the pro style offenses in gear and also making it easier for pro scouts to select thier players when the time comes.

I really don't have a good selection at this time but one person always sticks out in my mind and that is Gary Danielson. He seems to know quite a good deal about Ohio State football and I like to listen when he gives his takes as an ABC colorman. So if you had a choice in selcting a good Offensive C0-ordinator, who would it be.

This is a good topic of discussion but this topic has numerous threads. Please take a look at those and add your post.

My opinion is that Tressel will never hire a high profile coordinator unless he was in danger of losing his job which is not the case.
