A couple of thoughts:

The domers are playing a dangerous game. If the music stops and the Big 4 are all at 16, they've just doomed themselves to utter irrelevance. I'm sure that their thinking is that somebody will boot out an existing member to make room for us when WE'RE ready, but that would end up in a monumental, apocalyptic legal [Mark May]storm.

With the B12 solidifying itself as one of the last four standing, how does the PAC get to 16 since the option of Texas +3 no longer exists? BYU is a certain no vote from the academic schools as are the potatards. There just aren't any good candidates West of the Rockies. I could maybe see a wildcard scenario where ND ends up in the frickin' PAC with special privileges just because of their limited options.

OTOH, there are too many candidates (good, decent or borderline) East of the Mississippi to fit in the BIG, B12 and SEC!, which have a combined 10 openings to spread between the following:

domers
Pitt
Syracuse
Rutgers
Boston College
Maryland
UVA
VaTech
UNC
NC State
Duke
Clemson
GaTech
Miami
FSU

10 slots and 15 candidates. Who gets stuck coming out of the bathroom with nothing but their dicks in their hands?

Indeed the arrogant douche thinks everyone wants ND so bad that they will make special exceptions for them. I doubt it. The big east was the only one desperate enough to make the basketball only deal.

Meh, he's right. ND will have a conference. It likely won't have the special exceptions the Big East offered, but if ND wants a conference, they'll get in one.

You seemed to skip the entire part about everyone not making exceptions

Except that I didn't see the ND person suggest that they'd get those exceptions...just some angry BPer who stated that. I don't see that as relevant to someone from ND stating that they'll have a conference..... ....'cause they will if they want one. Nothing at all arrogant about that if that is what was said. I haven't seen where someone said that other conferences would make other concessions.

This. We want Notre Dame badly and so does the Big 12 apparently. Hell, the Pac 12 would love to have them too.

We've always wanted ND, but we've always made it clear that they would join on our terms: all sports, no special rules and full and equal revenue sharing.

I don't believe that is going to change.

It's a pattern of behavior for ND. Until they prove that they are willing to join a conference without special exceptions in their favor it should be continued to be thought of that they will continue to try to demand them.
