2024 College Football Polls

No, the committee has clearly used the polling to transfer the sec bias into their rankings.

Yep exactly, the people who say that the AP/Coaches comically inflating the SEC has "no effect on the CFP" are very mistaken. They definitely use it as "look we aren't biased the other polls are similar!" justification.

LSU being ahead of 4 undefeated P5 teams is a gigantic joke, they lost to a fucking 3-4 USC team.

At SOME POINT losses have to actually matter, but that's not the case for the SEC. It'll take 3 losses to put teams like Bama and LSU out, and even then the media shills would be arguing they deserve to be in over 2 or even 1 loss teams

They are REALLY going to do all they can to keep pimping that Vandy loss for Bama as a "good loss" too. Vandy is a lot better than they have been, but they still are a team that lost to 2-4 Sun Belt team (Georgia State) and they had to slug out a 10 point win over a bottom tier MAC school this past weekend.

I'm OK with them jumping UGA over Ohio State. Our loss is better, but we don't have anything close to their signature win. Jumping UGA over an undefeated pedster team is fucking insanity. And of course if we do get an equal signature win against the pedsters, that ranking will be written in stone and there's no way that we then jump them, though we'd have equal signature wins and our loss would be much better. What's also insane is that UGA is actually picking up #1 votes away from Oregon.

I wish UGA woulda completed that comeback vs Bama, as annoying as it woulda been, it likely woulda eliminated Bama from playoff contention at this point. UGA is likely gonna be in regardless but now Bama still has a chance. Hopefully Mizzou or LSU can take care of business, but I somehow doubt it.

The problem with the SEC bias is that they twist there being a group of mid tier "good" level teams with "LOOK AT ALL THE GREAT TEAMS IN THE SEC BEATING ON EACHOTHER!"

Tennessee is not that good, neither are LSU, Ole Miss or Bama. But they'll sure throw the "great" label on all of them.

rinse repeat for the last 30 years

And then there's the SEC CG. Or Maybe they decide to have two CGs - 1 v 4, 2 v 3 with the winners getting the two seeds and the two losers traveling to the CFPs first round? After all, they're the SEC and fuck you very much.

This weeks SEC SEC SEC! poll shenanigans

Missouri hangs clings into the top 25 still at #25, even though their 2 losses are by a combined 65 points and they have no wins that anywhere near make up for that

Vandy fell 1 SPOT to the first in "receiving votes" after falling to 5-3 (one of those losses being to 2-5 Georgia State) Meaning they will be right back in the top 25 if they beat 3-5 Auburn on Saturday

I see this year's Alabama team same as the post Pete Carroll USC. In decline and on there way to being insignificant. Give it time but thy end has come for the Crimson Tide.
