They are really on one right now. As the season crawls closer, the natives of DFBIA seem to get crazier and more delusional.

1 year of "success" and they somehow think the B1G is a line up in the I-Formation smash mouth conference like it was 30 years ago and they are the undisputed kings of it. There are only 3 teams i'd consider "smash mouth" scUM, Wisconsin and Iowa. The rest run pretty spread offenses. So acting like a 4-2-5 is going to get pounded on by grinding run games every week is laughable. Also acting like there's no way you can stop the run with it is laughable as well.

They also still can't wrap their brains around why people would think Ohio State will run through the conference but question Michigan being able to do it again.

Good stuff all around.

This post though. Lol.

December 2022. Columbus OH

"Next up... we have JIM!", boomed the karaoke host.

Jim Knowles looked around at the assembled crowd. Some of them he even considered friend. Karaoke wasn't the worst place to unwind after a big game, and if this was going to be his last hurrah he had something special prepared. As the melancholy guitar riff of the Killers' "Mr. Brightside" echoed through the club, Knowles stepped up to the mic and sang:

I'm choking on my rage
And we're being mauled by their line
They got another first down
From Corum running the ball
They outsmarted our timed blitz
What's wrong with our run fits?
(It was only a blitz), it was only a blitz
Cam Brown's falling asleep
And he just got a flag
While Denzel Burke's getting smoked
By Bell running a drag
Now they're kneeling instead
And our whole team is sick
And fans all want my head
Their O-line used a shamwow
Our D-line, well they got plowed
(Let it snow)
Coach Day just can't look, snow is chilling me
They're taking control

Misery, Bucknut fans are a disease
Sobbing Buckeye Battle Cry
Shambling up and down North High
My boss for now is Ryan Day
But my agent, he is calling me
Exposing more of Meyer's lies
Our d-line's offsides

That's the difference between us. If something like that got posted here, we elitist pricks wouldn't just delete it. We'd track down the source and remove it from the Buckeye gene pool.

There's not a cult like atmosphere here that agrees and strokes off every thing everyone says. You'd get ridiculed here for talking that some career 4th/5th stringer who has barely done anything in his career should be listed as a "top 100 player". They do the exact opposite, they embrace it and pump up the ludicrous claim.

You could say "Well that's just that one website and only certain members on that site" GoBlow, 95% of the posters there, are a perfect example of the whole fan base though. Twitter/any online comment section you'll see the same exact self stroking delusion from DFBIA.

Some things conveniently being ignored by the DFBIA...
  • They played a pretty soft schedule. Before ending the season playing 3 ranked teams, they played just 2...blowing a lead to Sparty in spectacular fashion and barely beating 23rd ranked ped aggy who went on to finish 7-6. Yep, they beat a flawed tOSU team and clobbered a very "meh" Iowa. Then of course got pantsed badly against UGA.
  • All of the unranked teams they beat weren't exactly impressive wins. They barely beat bad Rutgers and Corn teams...and needed a good dose of luck in both of those games.
  • Their offense might be as effective as last year if Corum and Edwards can be a reasonable facsimile of Haskins/Corum. But their defense is going to take a step back...probably a pretty big one. I don't know that it will be good enough to bail them out of squeekers like Corn and Rutgers this year.
  • This program was eroding for years before little bro lent Simple Jim a coordinator. If they think their new DC, with his BAD track record, is going to approach that...without Hutch/Ojabo they're dumber than even I thought.
  • The one thing they have going for them is that they have one of the biggest jokes of a schedule I've seen in a long time. They probably inflate themselves going into The Game, but I bet they drop a couple against some teams they'll be favored against due to the points I made above.
  • It's gonna be a blood bath in Columbus followed by a drubbing in a Tier 2 bowl game and they'll be calling for Simple Jim's head again in January.

Tradition Crystal Ball: Predicting every Michigan football game for 2022

Week 10: at Rutgers (L)

Yes. That is an L on your screen.

For whatever reason, Greg Schiano’s team has been a headache for Michigan to deal with since his return to Rutgers. In 2020, the Wolverines needed 3 overtimes to survive the Scarlet Knights. Last year, Rutgers held Michigan to an even lower offensive output (275 yards) than Georgia did (328).

Schiano’s Scarlet Knights pull off one of the most shocking results of the season, and the goal posts come down in Piscataway. Even if they aren’t removable.

Week 13: at Ohio State (L)
The Big Ten East title and a probable place in the CFP is on the line as both teams enter with a conference loss. (Ohio State’s defeat will come at the hands of Penn State.)

But Michigan hasn’t won at the Horseshoe since 2000, and that will not change here. The defensive deficiencies the Wolverines have been able to patch up for most of the season will get exposed by the Buckeyes, who will win comfortably.

2022 Projection: 10-2, 2nd in B1G East

Hutchison didn't do much prior to last year, so perhaps they believe lightning will strike again:

https://mgoblog.com/content/report-eyabi-anoma-has-transferred-michigan

Wasn't sure if this should go here or the transfer thread. But former 5star Eyabi Anoma has transferred from UT-Martin to scUM. My nephew plays for UT-Martin(kicker), and told me about this kid a few months ago. Said he was a physical freak and specimen, but he was one of the dumbest people(was not a fan of class) he'd ever met and coasted on his athleticism. Should've been the best player on the team and dominated in FCS, but was only above average and got lost because he hated to practice and wouldn't learn the plays. I'm sure scUM fans think they're getting a kid who should be like Chase Young based on HS accolades, and they may be disappointed if he can't even get eligible...

this is true but Hutchinson at least was a somewhat regarded recruit (113 overall top 10 at his position. So you could say it just took awhile for him to unlock that potential.

the guys replacing him are former generic 3* nobody recruits. REAL shots in the dark.

Didn’t this guy threaten Bama coaches too??

If scUM is adding this guy right now seems out of desperation. Maybe that Dline isn’t looking as great as DFBIA claims.

also they can never claim that “we can’t just take any transfers like every other school cause academics” after this. Of course they still will though.

DFBIA is taking the “WELL HE MUST BE CHANGED AND REFORMED!!” (There is absolutely nothing to suggest this) Spin approach

https://thespun.com/college-football/why-houston-reportedly-dismissed-former-5-star-eyabi-anoma

Initial reports suggested Houston dismissed Anoma due to a violation of team rules.

A new report indicated Anoma did not change his behavior from what led to his dismissal from Alabama. According to Matt Zenitz of AL.com, tardiness, skipping class, clashing with teammates and insubordination led Houston to move on from the talented football player.

Not only was he kicked off of Bama, but he also got kicked out of Houston as well for the same reasons. Maybe he learned his lesson at UT-Martin, but from what my nephew told me, not much has changed. And again, he told me all of this info months ago, he didn't even have a clue that Anoma was transferring

Looks like the former top Michigan Football recruit wasn't as NFL ready as he thought he was!

The Giants additionally announced that the team waived defensive tackle Christopher Hinton — Hinton was an undrafted free agent out of Michigan

Anybody actually feel bad for him? Me neither.

Fortunately for him the McDonald's in Ann Arbor is hiring...

Nobody is going to be surprised by their old-timey offense this year. Wisconsin gets away with it because they've been doing it for three decades,, recruit for it and have perfected it. With tsun, it was a one time fluke.

Sick kid voodoo gets them at night in Iowa City. Either Sparty or Ped gets them in Ann Arbor. They lose one that they should win simply by being self-satisfied fucks (looking at you Schiano). Day reigns his righteous vengeance and furious anger down upon them in Columbus. Finish 4th in the East and then get their stools pushed in by an 8-4 SeC school in the Who Gives A Fuck Bowl.

Mark it, Dude.
