So, maybe they haven't recruited a true DT in several years now... at least they have slow linebackers.While I realize this is way over-simplified, the basic premise of a 3-4 defense is having big, strong DLinemen - its crucial for all 3 to be, but particularly at NT - who can occupy a lot of space, as well as all 5 of the OLinemen. This frees up the LBs to run free and make plays - having 4 LBS who are disciplined, can run, and are sure tacklers is also required. If the Oline is allowed to get to the second level and put blocks on the LBs, even the best 3-4 defense can be gashed by a poor-to-average RB.
Knowing this, and knowing what the current talent level is at ttun, I would say that switching to a 3-4 would be a tremendous idea!
