This seems like a good idea

Ed Warinner now also Run Game Coordinator
Submitted by Gentleman Squirrels on January 21st, 2021 at 12:51 AM

Saw that Warinner had added RGC to his bio on twitter. I’m assuming this means Run Game Coordinator so effectively Gattis and Warinner would be sharing OC duties and Harbaugh is going back to his old coaching philosophy from 2015 of having separate pass and run game coordinators.

Their collective belief in the greatness of Warinner is hilarious. He recruits like a wet dish rag and got fired from OSU for being so awful at co-coordinating an offense. But the bar is so low for them they are forced to treat him as their coaching rock star and the solution to all their problems.
I still think that Cardales interview on the Zach Smith podcast is one of the greatest and honest interviews about that 2015 season.

I’ve never listened and just looked it up. The first comment on YouTube is “I hope Ed Warriner gets promoted to OC at Michigan soon.”

Edit: I don’t think this is the one with an interview with Cardale Jones, but he is going into the issues with Warriner.

I think Warriner is a solid coach and a terrible recruiter. He's not a miracle.worker like they seem to believe. His OLs at tOSU from 2012-14 were very, very good; but in retrospect that seems to be more of a function of the overall offensive scheme than his "great" coaching. He's been at tsun for what? 3 years now? During that time, I don't recall their OLs ever being better than "adequate" and it was terrible this year. Yes, they dealt with injuries, but that's where his lack of recruiting accumen bites you...depth.

Their olines have been pretty average for the most part (if not below average at times) They can get it done against lesser talent but its a different story against the higher caliber teams.

DFBIA seems to think it is a "strong point" of the team though, for whatever reason. It seems like some weird fantasy that Warriner is automatically a complete stud because he came from Ohio State

There is no conflict between saying their OL is "pretty average" and that it is a "strong point" of the team.
