Too many quotes to add, just read the whole thing. But no one believes that scUM is an elite team. Running over bottom feeders with no semblence of a passing doesn't scream that you're a good team, or even a close to competent one. IMO, scUM is the very poor man's UGA. I believe getting an early lead on either and forcing them to throw will beat them.

Reno Jesus updated stats vs non MAC teams

5 games.....75/124 788 Yards 2 TD 1 INT

6.3 yards per attempt.

Even overall he does not crack the top 50 in any major passing stat.

It's zero hour for captain handoff/checkdown this week as scUM finally faces a team with a pulse.

So...what kind of run game by volume numbers are they doing as a team against non MAC schools? It seems like they are just bludgeoning lesser talented teams to death at something less than 5 ypc on ~40 carriers a game since they certainly aren't hurting anyone through the air at 158 ypg.

Washington - 56 Runs 343 Yards
Rutgers - 38 Runs 112 Yards
Wisconsin - 44 Runs 112 Yards
Nebraska - 42 Runs 204 Yards
Northwestern - 54 Runs 294 Yards

Total - 234 Runs 1065 Yards 4.5 Yards Per Carry

Their 2 best performances came against 2 completely terrible run defenses, Washington #108 and Northwestern #122

But yea they are cranking out over 40 runs per game at <5 YPC

47 carries per game at 4.5 ypc and a passing "attack" throwing it 25 times a game for 6.3 ypa

213 rypg/158 pypg

371 total ypg

Somewhere Jim Bollman's cockles are tingling

The Rutgers & Nebraska games are much more indicative of scUM's "ability" than the other 3 P5 chump games.

Hell even the Wisconsin game was tight until they completely fell apart later in the 2nd half.

If they aren't consistently hitting big run plays and the other team isn't completely shooting themselves in the foot with terrible play, they are in for a fight no matter who they are playing. Fortunately for them so far they haven't played a team quite capable of taking advantage of that.
