UCF would have gotten CRUSHED in the playoff, regardless of who they played.

And people said they'd get crushed against the mighty SEC! runner up (Auburn -15), yet what happened? I'd like to see the best G5 get a shot. If they end up getting plungered every year so be it. Things can always be reevaluated.

With the way Bryant played last night. Anyone in the top 15 would have had a good shot at beating Clemson.

Eh, if they went to a 8 team playoff and the "best" G5 was undefeated I could agree.

There are some years where the top G5 team has 2 losses. Take Boise State in 2014 for example. 2 Losses (1 was a 14 point loss to Air Force) does that team really deserve a crack at the national title? Does anyone really want to see that team as #8 vs #1?

I'm not watching--I couldn't care less about either team, much like the last two years of Clemson-Alabama. On the bright side, at least Dabo was handed his shirt last night.

Mayfield/Swinney lost, both crushing defeats in their own way, so there is that. Saban has my respect for his consistent excellence, but do wish he would play a really, really good non-conference game on the road occasionally er every 4/5 years. Regardless of the 'dogs/'bama's good fortune of making the championship game, the bloom is totally off the rose re: the SEC:
