Game Thread 2017 B1G Championship Game: OSU vs. Wisconsin - 12/2/17 @ 8:00 ET (FOX)

Agree to disagree. I see 14 and 16 finishing very similarly. 14 ending with pulling OT win at Penn State and a very mediocre game in Minnesota. And 16 ending with the blocked kicked fiasco in Happy Valley (seriously, fuck the Pedsters) and a closer than should be game against the Spartans.

My memory may be off, but I think we dominated the rest of the those second halves other than the scum game in 16.

'14: we ended the season strong and who can forget 59-0

'16 we were terrible against Penn State and were only in it because they kept gifting us the ball in their territory. Terrible against Michigan first half. Terrible against unranked MSU, won by 1 pt. Poor against unranked Northwestern, won 24-20. Our best game was Oklahoma and we trended downwards from there.

Same could be said if you just beat Auburn Nicky.

Here's who Bammer played in out of conference schedule:

Free Shoes (JUST got their bowl eligibility today)
Fresno State (Lost to Boise Today in their Championship game)
Colorado State (7-5)
Mercer(5-6)

Here's who tOSU played in out of conference schedule:
Oklahoma (playing in the Playoff)
Army (8-3)
UNLV (5-7)

Congrats to THE Ohio State Buckeyes for being the 2017 BIG TEN CHAMPIONS!!
Despite mistakes, turnovers and penalties they beat an undefeated, #4 ranked team in the nation.
Silver Bullets played lights out. Only 60 yds rushing. Pressure all day long. Two INTs. Our D is playing
at an elite level right now.
Offense had four plays over 50 yds.
Dobbins had 174 yds on the ground and showed who the best Freshman RB truly is
OL played lights out. Not one sack. 230+ plus yds on the ground. Gave JT time to throw
If it wasn't for the turnovers the game wouldn't have been close.

GO BUCKS!!

I just don't remember '14 as fondly as you. I'm sure if I went back to Minnesota and PSU game threads, we would have all been talking about us as a national championship team. Point being, until we get to the playoffs, no one knows.

Still will not be disappointed no matter what happens tomorrow.

The only blemish on us resume-wise is Iowa. On paper if we didnt lose that game we would be debating on whether we are a 1 or 2 or 3 seed.

Our loss was to OU who was and still is a top ranked team, so that doesnt carry a ton of weight.

The iowa loss is nasty, but not as nasty when you put it to comparison.

Clemson lost to a much worse Syracuse team.

OU lost to Iowa State, and Iowa State also got beat by Iowa. So by proxy it shows anyone can run into a bad beat. Iowa State had a couple upsets but other than that was not a good team either.

Point is anyone saying we lost to Iowa as major disqualifer arent looking at facts. The biggest problem with Iowa waa the way we lost, not that we lost.

With all that said, had we played consistent football most the year, particularly on offense, I would be really disappointed if we got left out. Since we've played so hot and cold most of the year and tripping on our dicks I can't say we deserve it but its hard to argue who deserves it more.

End of day I think there are a few better teams that could beat us best of 2 of 3 but they don't have a resume. It could cut either way because of this.

I don't think OSU-Clemson would just be a repeat embarrassment this time. It seems to me our WR's and RB's are much more dangerous this year and the defense is better. Buckeyes' secondary played great tonight and the d-line was a juggernaut. JT hit that deep pass in the first half, and made other good throws after not practicing all week. I'd rather see Haskins start, but I'm not writing us off against Clem. Even folks here who are in favor of a playoff berth seem not too confident.

Bucks' are vastly improved since the Okla game on both sides of the ball, whereas the Sooners regressed most of the season, Cryami was overrated and Clemson won a week conference. JT was likely in pain the 2nd half... Let's see how they do after he has a month to practice and heal. Tonight's first half Bucks, minus the pick-6 and fumble, can play with anybody.

We lost to Clemson 31-0 in the playoffs last year and currently have the #1 recruiting class in the country this year. So there goes your recruiting argument down the drain.

If Ohio State goes 13-0 or 12-1 and wins the Big Ten title next year, do you really think that the CFB Playoff Committee would leave the Buckeyes out because they laid an egg this year? I'd like to hear that line of reasoning....

This is what I was thinking....if we go undefeated, we're not going to be on the edge. So....

They did curb stomp Miami, but c'mon, Miami has been shitting the bed in big games for nearly two decades, and Mark Richt was doing the same thing at Georgia.
