2015-16 Ohio State Quarterback Discussion

I'm so curious to be a fly on the wall at a practice session, if JT hasn't been able to take the job from Cardale. It truly must be something that Cardale is showing during the week, nthat he hasn't shown on Saturdays to keep this job. I'm riding with Cardale, since the coaches are, in hopes that what he's shown them, he shows us for the rest of the season

Safe to assume he doesn't have the confidence issues in practice that he has during the actual games. It seems like as soon as he throws one pass off target, he fears what will happen with every pass after that. He probably doesn't worry as much in practice, because they will work on fixing it right then and there. In the games, if he makes a mistake, the fear of being benched is probably constantly in the back of his mind after making a bad pass.

I think the key point in that entire article/tweet post is:

That's the main point I got as well... Idk where we go with that other than to grin and bear it, and hope Cardale continues to learn. Idk if Urban is going to pull him or do the same and hope he gets better...

This should be required reading for about 80% of BP. An excerpt:

...

Like anybody else, Barrett had good games, great games, bad games and so-so games last season. The narrative does not reflect that, though, and that’s kind of crippling any discussion about the quarterbacks this season.

Folks remembering only the best of Barrett last year are inevitably not going to be happy with a less-than-perfect Jones this year.

Unfortunately, they are clinging to a false narrative that dominated the offseason.

I've read through these last few pages and I have to say that we are clearly more in the know than Meyer. Wow, we really are the experts here...

:roll2:

Oh, come on.

I don't think most here are claiming to know more than Urban, just expressing how we feel about what we've seen and what info we've been given.

What would message boards be without semi-educated speculation?

OK. I'm going to say it. I'm pissed off.

We're in which week of the season? And not one word. Not a damn call. Not one.

If Urban Meyer wants to get this QB situation sorted out, he better get on the damn telephone. Five minutes tops, I will sort this thing out. Otherwise, he doesn't get my idiosyncratic insights.

And I don't want to talk to Beck. I'm a long time fan. A real Buckeye. Call now, Urban..you owe it to me and yourself.

Had you not included the picture, I fear 80% of those posting in this thread would have quoted you and responded with "Agreed!"

Today looked like something from about a decade ago, when Chris Leak (Cardale Jones) and Tim Tebow (JT Barrett) shared the QB position and won a championship for Urban.

Before someone pounces, I'm not saying JT is Tebow - JT can actually throw a decent pass. But the roles in which our QBs were used today were reminiscent of that offense.
