2015-16 Ohio State Quarterback Discussion

This kid has hung in there and deserves every chance and the benefit of every doubt if he wants to make another run at QB. I admire and respect him for how he's handled everything.
I'd say that for all three of them - in an interview after the NC game Urban talked frankly about all three and the message I got from his comments was that until called upon in the clutch, Cardale was immature, but grew up in a hurry, Brax was not that coachable but was a true baller (whatever the hell that means) and that JT was a real student of the game, one who constantly studied, worked and improved. I came away from the interview with a feeling that JT had the upper hand at this point in time, that the position was more his to lose than for others to win. That's nothing more than my interpretation of Urban's comments.

I'd say that's all accurate. My point as to Braxton is really that for a two-time POY and a once in a generation athlete to gut it out and stick with the program is pretty rare. He's a better man that I. I'd be in the draft and playing slot receiver for whomever would draft me. All three of them are outstanding guys.

Ehh, never say never. We could have another 2007. And looking over AP polls, the top 4 going into bowl season had a 2 loss team quite a few times.
I don't ever want a NC game like that again. It was even worse than in 2006. We somehow lucked into a NC birth and the media still made it seem like we inappropriately touched their sister to get into the title game. If about 5 teams would've done their job we would've been looking at a new year's bowl, but instead we were crucified for making it 2 years in a row. UGH E$PiN flavor of the month bullshit.

I honestly don't give a damn what our perception is if we somehow "sneak" into an NC. That 2007 season was not NC caliber, and most of us knew that, 2006 was a different matter, that was a hell of a squad that got worked by UF. But our perception has changed a lot now that we have a 2014 title, now we will have a lot of the SEC ass kissing.
And @woofermazing , good point we could have another crazy year and actually make the top 4 with 2 losses. Anythings possible

Interesting thought: which two losses? Early still seems to be better than later, but early in 2015 means Va Tech - how shitty would that be? - or a MAC team which would be even shittier. Michigan State could not only lock us out of the Big 10 playoff, but be so late in the season that there's be no time to recover. Penn State would mean I could never sneak over to BWI to visit the insane. A loss to Indiana and Michigan fans would feel as if Appy State had found it's equivalent.

Va Tech may be tough, but I think we go into Blackburg and lay down some serious lumber on the turkeys.

Michigan State and Ped State are at The Shoe. Sparty won't be as good as they were last year and we own Ped State at our place...neither should pose much of a problem. The other home games should be blow outs.

Our four road conference games are (and last year's results): Indiana (42-27). Rutgers (56-17), Illinois (55-14), and Michigan (42-28).

Unless we come out flat in any of the games, there's no way we don't go 12-0 and get to the B1G CCG.

I agree, but the question posed was could a two loss team make the playoff... But we're straying from the thread's theme.

The Wolverines are going to be JACKED for OSU, and I hate that that game is right after MSU. Obviously OSU will be the far better team on paper, but even after the last decade or so I never take those vermin for granted. I expect them to play well over their heads, and after what will undoubtedly be a physical tilt with Sparty, even an average, as oppoosed to flat, performance might not cut it. I do expect OSU to also play above average that week and win, but every team has different chemistry and you never know for sure.

One thing to keep in mind is that UM is @ PSU the week before. And of course MSU>PSU right now, but we're home and UM is on the road. And I'm guessing that will be the one game that they have their whiteout, crazy batshit fans go to.

That game worries me for the same reason, but also because scUM has come to play in every Game jHoke was there, and even when he was a lame duck coach. I can only imagine how they'll play for a coach who rubs blood on his face and screams like a PMSing woman on th sidelines

Yeah, but the difference is that the Wolverines will likely lose that game without putting forth a great effort or expending a ton of emotional energy and need to beat us just to get to a bowl or something. OSU will get Sparty's best shot and expend a lot of energy in prevailing. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anticipating a loss: I'm just not entirely cavalier about THE GAME. I am glad that OSU's bye is relatively late this year. Gotta believe that there's a cumulative effect to playing Sparty, jacked up UM, and Wiscy? (would much rather see the Huskers or Minny) back to back to back.

The down side to being Ohio State is that you're going to get everybody's best shot; not just Michigan's.

Yep. I think we pretty much hammer MSU at our place, whilst the Peddies give Meatchicken all they can handle if not beat them outright. And no way do I think Hardblob is near the game coach that Meyer is.
