2015-16 Ohio State Quarterback Discussion

Interesting thought but would Herman do that to Urban? I feel the only way that happens is with Urbans blessing and that isn't going to happen.

I also think Herman knows the severity of Braxtons injury possibly, and doesn't see a point in trying to bring him. Its funny how so many teams want Braxton but forget he has a serious shoulder injury

Is anyone else worried this could divide the locker room or is that just me?

Players taking sides and such.. I know it is a tight group but this has derailed teams before and they are still young men.

Only if, big ***if***, they by chance happen to lose a game because ..., ok perish the thought. Never mind. Would just say that each QB in their own way has already had a chance/taste at glory. Braxton part of a 24-0 run and two wins over MI and then some Heisman buzz. JT taking the next man up into a spectacular season where he broke Drew Brees B1G td record. Beat Michigan State at East Lansing to avenge last year. And his own Heisman buzz. Finally Cardale coming out of nowhere to troll ESPN! :urban2:

Re: an earlier post when someone's mother had a dream that the Buckeye's would shut out the Ducks. Actually, they did shut out Oregon for (26:33) of the first half in between the first td and last minute field goal. And after Ohio State's last two turnovers of the second half when they got a quick td and field goal ~ (21:39). So for a period of (48:12) of the 60 minutes, the Bucks were plucking ducks er Zeke was ruffling feathers.

all its gonna take is a hard hit on his shoulder then he's done

As far as I know, nobody on this board has seen Brax's medical records or has inside knowledge regarding his recovery. Heck, I don't even know if anyone here's an orthopedic surgeon or otherwise has training that qualifies them to have an opinion. Yet there seem to be plenty of opinions regarding his future physical ability and durability. I'll just wait to see what happens.

I have such expertise resident in my family (not myself). What I can tell you is that shoulder injuries, aside from clean breaks, are typically more likely to leave the patient with long-term limitations than injuries to other major joints.

That doesn't mean Brax won't recover completely, of course, but there is a possibility he won't. That likelihood seems magnified by the fact he has had two sequential surgeries to address the same injury.

I love the name on the front of the jersey..if UFM and staff want Collier to start I am fine with that.

Completely agree. Coming from the baseball world perspective on shoulder surgeries, Brax will never be the same thrower again.

The new Brax may still be perfectly capable, even very good....who knows but he will never be the same thrower again.

As far as the competition goes, I just don't see how anyone can pencil him in on equal footing with Barrett and Jones until he proves at some point he can actually throw a football again. TWO shoulder surgeries is a big effing deal for anyone who throws something overhand as their job.

Every press conference Urban has he downplays the QB..PSU or WISC he didn't gush over the QB. He knows its a TEAM game and feels he can win with any QB on the roster or they wouldn't have been recruited. He treats the QB as one of 22 that's why there won't be a locker room problem. The QB and the TE are the same to him or at least that's what he projects to the team and media. UFM is playing chess while the media and fans play checkers.

I feel like this is a slight adjustment to his time at Florida. JTB, Braxton, and Cardale are all super talented, but the offense is not dependent on one of them to be really good or great. With the power run game they've established through Hyde and Elliott and the other skill players they've stockpiled, the offense can take a hit at the QB position and they will be able to adjust more than they could at Florida.
