2015-16 Ohio State Quarterback Discussion

Throw in the durability factor, and I have a hard time seeing how Brax can come back and start provided that JT plays at this level for the rest of the season.

I wanted to hold off on saying this until after the next few games. But completely agree. Barrett has the offense moving as efficient as OSU fans have seen in years dating back to an elder Troy Smith, and dare I say he's looking more mature and like a pure QB who runs only on necessity. If the remainder of the season looks even a fraction of the games since VA tech, I just don't know how the coaching staff can straight up give the starting QB spot bsck to Braxton. Barrett has been THAT good.

Harsh reality?

I said the same thing about true frosh TP and true frosh Brax.

Development isn't a given.

The difference being Barrett can already throw accurately. He's not just a gifted runner with some throwing ability. Where he is now, is where we hoped Braxton would be during this season (as a thrower/game manager, not just a playmaker)

You're right he will go the next 3 years without any improvement. Both Brax and TP improved in their time here the difference is JT is starting his career better then where the other two ended theirs. He will get better maybe not exponentially but there will be improvement.

Cool stat here for JT is no INTs since Kent State (even that was a fluke)

Ridiculous performance this season for a redshirt freshman. All time scoring record on the way for this Buckeye offense.

That Rutgers defense wasn't a sieve going into this game and the Bucks did anything they wanted to. By the end of the year they need to be in the discussion, especially should they go into E Lansing and come out victorious.

If we win the national championship this year, I can see the potential for a quarterback controversy in 2015.

Change this sentence

By the end of the year they need to be in the discussion, especially should they go into E Lansing and come out victorious.

to say

By the end of the year they need to be in the discussion, if they go into E Lansing and come out victorious.

I can agree with that sentence now. No way should a 2-loss non-champion be in any playoff discussion, if they want to maintain any credibility. And, yes, that includes all of the teams in the SEC.

He's saying all the right things right now but Braxton needs to move on. He's got a small NFL window and, whether actually "prone" or not, has a legitimate injury history. I think the coaching staff will tell him that he's done his part for us and has to look out for himself. There won't be any controversy.
