2015-16 Ohio State Quarterback Discussion

In fairness to Braxton's freshman season "Dave" made up 94.32% of the total plays ran. Tough to rack up the passing yards with those play calls. lol
In all fairness to the coaches, Braxton didn't exactly evoke confidence in the passing department as a frosh, but also, he was lacking targets, thus the large number of run plays not to mention we had the creative mind of Bolleman.

The real question seems to be how do they get Braxton nfl ready. He will basically not throw a ball outside of rehabbing until fall practice and if he screws up his arm he's done. If they think he is healed and is throwing well and it will translate to the nfl then he is our guy. If he looks like his throwing won't improve from his junior year or he isn't healed then he won't make it in the nfl as a qb anyhow. He should move to pivot where there is less risk of a career ending injury and he can get drafted. That's the name of the game. Get drafted.

First game I think he scored 3 TD's as a WR (but, hey, there's been a lot of booze since then so I may be misremembering)
Those were part of my days on campus His freshmen year he joked saying he wasn't sure which spot until game day. Every coach wanted him badly. He's a very nice guy use too see him a lot at the tail gate I attended with other past players

You neglected to include Joe ("The Marksman") Bauserman in your comparison.
Actually, Bauserman looked like a pretty good quarterback after his debut against Akron when he went 12 for 16 for 163 and 3 TD, plus a 15-yard TD running. That performance illustrates the problem of trying to judge someone from a too-small sample size.

Given the conversation regarding Barrett's numbers, it seems relevant to note:

Miami (FL) rolled up 621 yards of offense against UC today, a week after Memphis booked 610 yards
Kent State lost 40-17 to Umass, ending the Minutemen's 12 game losing streak.

Comparing UC & Kent State this year to Buffalo & SDSU last year is completely unfair to two crappy teams last year. UC & Kent State really, really suck. Really suck.

compare UC and Kent 2014 to Florida A&M and Cal 2013... shit, that won't work, Guiton threw for ten TDs in that time frame!

OR compare them to Miami Oh (3-9) and UAB (3-9) two teams that were actually in the BM5 vs JT4 '1st year starting under Urban' comparison... whoops, JT4 stands head and shoulders above BM5. damn.
