Zincfinger,
I will never give up my membership. I love everything JT brings as a QB for Ohio State. But... if he loses 2 fumbles and throws 3 picks, I would have to suddenly get much quieter and less opinionated on the subject - which many can testify, is a difficult thing to achieve.
I think there is some pretty deep BS coming out of the WHAC, but it's good BS - for the sake of team and teammates. But I don't buy for a minute that players don't care who plays/starts at QB, nor do I think we can take seriously claims that the inside view is that everything has been fine with the offense all along. I know playmakers always prefer the guy who can get the ball to them best, and Urban himself after Hawaii, N Ill, WM, and Indiana consistently said, "We have to get that (multiple issues) fixed." You can't have it both ways. Either there were significant issues and things were not "fine" or there were not any major issues and things were right where they were supposed to be. I think our eyes tell is it was the former - and our brains should tell us that Cardale does not bear all of the responsibility for those issues. But his responsibility is not zero either.
I think Cardale should play. Against VT I expected JT to start, and Cardale to play a series a qtr, more or less, and maybe get some special situation time. I'd like to see them do something similar. Keep Cardale involved and engaged. Take the very top of the list of things he does best, and let him go out there and perform. Mainly, let him throw it 70 yards down the field. Even if he doesn't complete most of them, it will scare the bejeebers out of defenses. DO NOT put him out there and ask him to run zone read, lateral speed option, etc, I'm bald, but if I wasn't, I would be anyway for rubbing my head so much when I saw these plays being called for him. But for the sake of having offensive identity, converting 1st downs, and getting the ball into the endzone, JT is that guy. He did it last year, and he did it the last two weeks. He has given no one any reason to believe he won't keep doing it.
