Ohio State's defense needs to tackle well, keep contain and get pressure in Mariota's face. They don't necessarily have to sack him a bunch of times, but they need to be sound on the fundamental side.

Yeah, pressure and keeping the Oregon Offense out of rhythm is crucial.

The elite teams in the country have caught up to the elite teams of the sec. I believe this is largely due better defense being played in other conferences. The SEC has been largely unable to adjust to some of the more exotic offenses that are being employed right now, and the transition of the game to make speed just as important as power.

The Osu defense is a very nice mix of speed and power. They could use a little more of both, but they are well coached enough that it won't matter. With a little more experience (next year) you guys may very well have something special.

I would say the #4 team in the west played the #3 team in the B1G. I would say Sparty is the #2 team in the B1G.

Ranking them can be rather subjective and arbitrary, but conference records don't lie.

A few of their West teams were "over matched", but it cuts both ways It's not like 5-3 Minnesota losing to 7-1 Missouri is a great accomplishment, but they'll never mention that.
Moreover, the rankings claimed these were favorable matchups... their top-25 teams going 2-5 ... and the 2 wins only coming against teams ranked #21 and #25 makes it hard to say they weren't grossly over-rated. Miss St and Ole Miss had no business in the top-10. Auburn and LSU had no business in the top-25.
