2014 Preseason and Regular Season Polls

What is "handling business" ?

I question a system that gives Stanford a mulligan against a 5-7 Utah.
Did Stanford win big games in the mid-2000s to earn an irrefutable rep? Did it appear that Stanford losing the Rose Bowl hurt their rep?
Why does "handling business" mean flawless for Ohio State, and simply winning their conference for everyone else?

I'd like to think if there were three 1-loss teams vying for 2 spots, that we'd have a shot. I don't see why we shouldn't have a chance with 1 loss depending on the situation.

I agree completely about the hypocrisy. I agree we should have a shot. My response was merely to whether osu deserved a title shot with one loss.

In 05? Sure. Not during the last two years, and the current osu team does not. Now if they mature and the line, Wrs and D step up big time, that's another story.

True. Suppose, however, that Ohio State was one of four 1-loss teams vying for the last two spots (2 unbeatens), and Ohio State is ranked the lowest of the four in every single poll. No way that the star chamber votes us in--Big Ten champ or not. Until this conference unfucks itself, we're in a real danger of being proper fucked at the end of a season.

Because nobody gives a shit about Stanford football. The Buckeyes will always be hated. We just have to accept that

If Nebraska comes out of the west with their only loss being MSU and we win out I can see us having a chance.
Really Wisconsin or Nebraska would be good for us. Nebraska with one loss to MSU or Wisconsin with 1 loss to LSU. And really arguably the best case scenario (even though it would be a wash since we would end up playing both teams) would be Nebraska undefeated, beating MSU this weekend.
