2014 NFL (Well, Browns, so, sorta "NFL") Draft Thread

Leaked internal scouting report: The Patriots do not like Johnny Manziel - Deadspin

Bro Bible just published an internal New England Patriots scouting report on Johnny Manziel, who was selected with the 22nd overall pick by the Cleveland Browns during last night's NFL draft. We got a look at a version of the report yesterday. Judging by this, the Pats saw Manziel in much same way as many in the media do: as an arrogant, spoiled child, unfit for the Patriot Way.

You can find the full scouting report over at Bro Bible. It's generally laudatory of Manziel's skills as a football player, but has very unkind things to say about the quality of his character. Some highlights from the section labeled "Character" (emphasis added):

Be curious to see where El Guapo lands tonight

Yep. I think Atlanta could use him early 2nd (Jackson is old and ineffective), Jacksonville could (MJD is awful now), the Titans could with Johnson leaving, the Giants definitely could (less likely now that they have Jennings), Miami (they could seriously use him), and maybe SF/NE (I think he will be gone by then though). My best guess is Tennessee...they picked up Lewan to protect Locker and now they need to help him with an impact runner.

DIRTY BIRDZ targeting a pass rusher in the early second. If Hyde slips into the late 40's of round 2, we have two fours and a 3 to deal with to move back into the second.
Still a bit too early for an RB at pick 37. At least for a team with as many needs as we have.

And they did pretty well with the last Ohio State running back that they drafted.

I know, which bums me out bc that really would have made life a lot easier for an QB. However, we got another first rd pick next year and it's likely going to be top 10 again so it makes it easier to handle I suppose. We did get the best CB in the draft though too, so not too shabby.

The statistics as well as history don't support your assertion that drafting Watkins would have made things easier for any QB.

Too many good corners to say one was the best in this draft. I would have taken any of the first 5. Glad the Bengals ended up with Dennard.

Well I should say he is regarded by many as the best corner. There were a lot of good corners thought. I like Gilbert but I really wanted Watkins at 4. I'm not sure if I'd rather have had Watkins at 4 or Gilbert and the 1st round addition next year but either way I think both would have been good choices.
