Game Thread 2014 B1G Championship Game: tOSU vs. Wisconsin, Dec. 6, 8:17 PM ET, FOX

I want to see our players come in with the same kind of confidence they did against MSU. There is no question we can win this game. It boils down to stopping/limiting the run. We have faced some really good RB's this year. We can't afford to let Gordon do what the guy from Indiana did. TACKLING. WRAPPING UP. RIGHT ANGLES. PLAYING DISCIPLINED are all going limit UW's running game.

We WILL score on Offense. Period. Cardale is a solid QB and just needs to manage the game. He'll get er done.

I think we have better coaches and better players. We should win this.

GO BUCKS!!

I haven't seen anyone post about Joshua. He's a five year old Buckeye fan who the players have been sending little video messages to over the last year or so, telling him to be brave and stay strong, and that the Buckeyes are behind him all the way. Urban gave his family sideline passes a couple weeks ago. Anyway, Joshua sent Cardale a video message. In it he said, "Be brave, Cardale. If I can beat cancer, you can beat Wisconsin. Go Bucks!"

If that isn't the greatest karma in the world, then I don't know what is.

Cardale is not Brax. He's not JT. But, no reason why he can't be a plug in piece to get the ball to the playmakers around him. He doesn't even need to run much. If he can make Wiscy respect the passing game he will have done enough.
He can do this!
This is a team game! The better team will win.

The video is posted on BP somewhere within the last few days. He's a cute little boy. Wish him all the best.

Urban said this morning that this team is close, and even closer with what they have faced in the past week. Having been in a few lockerrooms, I think that is something that is really under-rated. When a bunch of guys feel like brothers, they play for each other, and they find a way. If you are not in that lockerroom, you don't know whether they are close or not, but I'm going to trust that Urban is not blowing smoke on this.

In 2007 my son was a post player on his HS hoops team. They had some really good talent, and even tho they were winning games, you could tell they weren't together. In early Feb there was an accident that put one of their teammates in a coma and killed his father and grandma. Those guys got close and they rode it to the state final 4. They weren't going there unless they came together, and the catalyst was the accident.

They lost by 1 point in the semis to the eventual state champ, so real life seldom gives us the Hollywood ending. I guess I feel that JT's injury and Kosta's death could bring them closer together, and allow them to play their best game of the year. If they do, Wisconsin doesn't have a chance.

The similarity to Cardale stepping in for JT and JT having stepped in for Braxton is that an inexperienced but very talented player was stepping in for a highly successful player who sustained an injury. What I believe is more important is the difference. JT stepped in behind an unproven line, and the weapons around him hadn't yet proven themselves. Cardale is stepping in behind a much better line, and the skill players around him have proven they can make plays. I believe the defense plays a good game, the offense plays well, and the team with superior talent and coaching wins by double digits (10-12 points). No, I don't expect the defense to play a perfect game and the offense to score on every possession, but if the offense doesn't turn it over talent will win out because the team has shown they have the heart to go with the talent.

The only problem is that this could end up being like the VT game. And when I say that I mean that I actually have a ton of confidence in Cardale, but he hasn't played much. If JT got hurt a few weeks back, and let's say he played vs Minn, Indiana, and Michigan, then I'd be much more confident.
