Nobody said it was just about the title. I don't see how you can just not care about some of the biggest games we play in though with the obvious exception of The Game. Bowl games are some of the few chances we get to see our team play against other conferences or highly ranked teams granted it doesn't always mean a lot in terms of who is better but I really can't see how you value for example the 2009 Illinois game more than the Rose bowl game against Oregon.
Maybe because I watched us dismantle UCLA in the regular season the lose to them in a Rose Bowl or maybe the quotes from many of the stars in the 60's and 70's that they looked at Bowls as a reward(vacation) for the hard work of the season or because we always played the Pac 10 teams in their home turf..Business for them and vacation for the Big 10 team that went West.

Fascinating. For some reason I am thinking about Wisky v ASU

So I'm guessing there's no chance an undefeated Ohio State passes an undefeated FSU?

The later it gets, the better I like our chances. FSU's potential ACC Championship opponent is currently sitting at 3 losses (at best). That side of the division losing will only make matters worse.

Why did FSU think scheduling fucking Idaho this late in the season was ever going to be a good idea? They can only blame themselves for that move.

That's pretty much a given. The comp rating would probably be very close near the end; but I cannot see the polls putting us even marginally close.
ESPiN, CBS, et. al. have done a superb job of pushing this narrative about "weak schedule" and how we don't even belong in the conversation.
Unless somebody starts doing some serious campaigning and dispelling these myths, we're not going to get any respect.
Honestly, we may even need Baylor to win out just to hold Stanford off...

If by any chance we do manage to sneak in, there will be plenty of locker room material for Urban however. The exact opposite of 2006 I hope... I'm just waiting for the chips to fall where they may and enjoy the spectacular season we're having despite all the media bs.

Horse[Mark May]. The computers aren't discounting losses nearly enough if Stanford is ahead of tOSU.

Agreed. Utah is currently 1-5 in the PAC-12. The only win coming, of course, against Stanford. It would be the equivalent of OSU losing to a team like Purdue. People like Herbie wouldn't be able to utter the words "Ohio State" without saying such a loss virtually disqualifies the Buckeyes from a shot at the NC game.

If Stanford and Baylor both ein out, we could honestly be looking at being passed by both of them...

Not likely. Only Baylor is capable of passing us in the polls -- and if they did it'd be by the slightest of margins.
Meanwhile, Stanford would both of us in the computers thanks to ASU.
The result is they'd effectively split #3/5 and end up at 4/5, allowing us to stay clearly at #3.
