2013 Preseason and regular polls

All we can do is win all of our games, that is true. But osu is not at all in the driver's seat to where that's enough. Any fan can be a homer and just say win and we're good. But realistically we need at least a team in the top 2 to lose if we want a chance at a NC. If all teams win out, osu is most likely in the rose bowl. But a bcs bowl nonetheless. Thats just the facts
No one is disputing this.

In all likelihood we should be 3rd in the bcs, correct? Or will the computers hold us down?

The computers thought Baylor (and Oklahoma) were a pile of crap last week - Baylor was hovering around 9. The computers have had us on an even keel with FSU, Oregon, and 'Bama last week.
It's only the media that thinks we should be "on the outside looking in" (alongside Baylor and Stanford).

But what's the argument to people who say, but they played lsu, a&m and upcoming auburn?

i say 3-loss LSU? oooh, not THERE'S a real quality opponent!
aTm? didn't they suck ass for the last 15 years in the Big XII before joining the SEC and suddenly looking like world beaters?
same for Mizzou. when's the last time they were relevant? 1996 before Big Kat leveled Corby Jones?
suddenly they're all world? or did they take a BIG step down in competition?
idk about Auburn, other than to say that they are vastly overrated, like the rest of the SEC.

why isn't Minnesota ranked?
why isn't Sparty in the top 10?
why isn't Wisky ranked higher?

the BIG and SEC are tied at 19-19 in BCS games.

Just for an interesting experiment... the Colley Matrix (1 of the 6 computer rankings) let's you "play god" a little bit.
These are still last week's rankings, but the entire PAC is being inflated by that ASU - Wisconsin result.

The left side shows CM's official ranking
The right side shows what it would be if you reverse that bad result.
Also of note is how over-rated LSU was and will continue to be.

I believe there is still a chance tOSU jumps freeShoes by the end of the year. Their computer rankings will only continue to get worse and the strength of competition will hold little weight. We may just need help outside of the obvious, such as Clemson racking up another loss and msu winning out until a mathcup in the B1G championship. The coaches poll can change dramatically at the end when all the coaches actually vote.
Also, the media would love to feel reasponsible for the inclusion of tOSU in the championship, there can't be a better bad guy out there and the winning streak is a great story line. If it's money/website hits they want then tOSU in the game and bashing the crap out of them is want they want.

That's why the BCS is the worst championship in sports..why should tOSU have to give two <Mark May's> about Whisky-ASU

That game still really pisses me off. The refs cost them the game, the Pac-12 acknowledged it, yet no one cares... They should have fixed it on the spot and allowed them to kick the FG, 12 seconds to spot the ball as they stand there with their thumbs up there ass is a load of bull, even if the fans rush the field, then I believe that is a personal foul against the home team, I remember a game a few years ago where the fans stormed the field, they had to clear them all off and asses the penalty and finish the game.
