Michigan defensive lineman Frank Clark bats down a pass in Saturday's game against Air Force. He was in court Tuesday on a felony home invasion charge.

Clark will be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 23 -- the same day and time as teammate Fitz Toussaint (DUI) -- and faces a maximum punishment of 15 years in prison and a $3,000 fine.

We can only hope; however, the Michigan prison system probably has some type of "work release" program that will allow him to play football for scUM on Saturdays.....:slappy:

Wait, he played this weekend? Are you f'n kidding me?

I don't normally get too bent out of shape over ticky tack discipline issues on other teams but one would think that it might not be a good idea to play a kid who has a court date for a felony charge three days after the game.

You're missing the point here Muck. It was Air Force...they needed him. :slappy:

Re: Clark was suspended one game following his arrest, and made his season debut in Saturday's win against Air Force. Coach Brady Hoke recently was asked about his decision to reinstate Clark, despite an open felony case.
"He's paid a lot of consequences internally," Hoke said.
Asked about the process for Clark's reinstatement, Hoke said, "I don't need to take you through a process. I just resolved it."

I don't understand why there is a sentencing hearing if his record is going to be expunged after a year if he stays out of trouble......

Where are you getting a year from? He will be sentenced, maybe serve jail time, and then go on probation. If he stays out of trouble throughout his probation, then the record is expunged.

Clark made the plea with the understanding that, because he has no prior convictions, Judge Donald Shelton will sentence him under the Holmes Youthful Training Act for stealing another student's laptop computer.

HYTA is a plea for individuals under the age of 21 that allows the conviction to be expunged from their record after a year of no further violations.

I read it as his punishment was the probation. I guess I read it wrong and there will be more than just this
