David Dawson (Detroit/Cass Tech), the No. 1 offensive guard prospect in the nation, is no longer committed to Michigan.

For quite some time Dawson had been flirting with the idea of entertaining other programs despite his commitment to the Wolverines. Brady Hoke and his staff have stood firm on their policy of no longer recruiting prospects who commit to them and then decided to take more visits.

"I wasn't 100 percent sure, and I didn't want to go any longer hurting myself or the University of Michigan," he said. "I talked to my mom and coaches and they gave me the OK to do what I felt was best. I thank Coach [Brady] Hoke for giving me the opportunity, but it was something I had to do."

I've never been a fan of this "no other visit" policy. It's going to bite them in the ass eventually.

Michigan-QB-Denard-Robinson-could-see-more-kick-returns
As coy as Michigan coach Brady Hoke was earlier this week when asked why quarterback Denard Robinson was on the kickoff return team to open the second half against Michigan State, he was equally so Wednesday when asked if that might happen in the future."(It) could," Hoke said as he prepares No. 20 Michigan for a visit to Nebraska on Saturday. "Yeah, we could do that. It's not a bad idea."
That was the only time Robinson has appeared on the field for a kick return during his college career. Robinson said Tuesday after practice he was all for the idea when Hoke presented it to him last week.
"He just told me, 'Denard, we're going to put you on kickoff team,' so I was like 'All right,'" Robinson said Tuesday. "I was kind of excited about it.
"I'm not scared to do it. It's football."
Robinson said he returned a few kicks in high school.
Taking your only consistent weapon on offense and subjecting him to the most violent collisions in football? With a guy that gets hurt often already? Very smart.

Makes me think Treadwell is not coming.
That would hurt...badly. scUM is as devoid of talent at the receiver position as I can ever remember them. If they don't get Treadwell, they better hope one of these borderline guys they're getting this year is a major sleeper, or Devin Funchess will be the only real threat for a shaky QB behind a rebuilt OL next year.

I read where they reached out to Treadwell and said they still want him. That Jones would be taking Dawson's spot that opened up

Yep--the windbag seems to be banking on the fact that he can win games by the score of 3-0 next year.
