2011 Big Ten Leaders Division Race

Am in Tahoe as we speak. Family went to Reno for a little card playin', so stopped in the Nugget's Sports Book. Didn't have the divisional percentages, but to win the B1G conference championship, Nebraska is a 17/10 favorite, followed by Wiscy at 8/5; Penn St 11/2; and tOSU 7/1. (Indy and Minny are 100/1 longshots).

Interestingly OSU is a 50/1 shot to win the NCAA championship; Nebraska is 20/1 (!); MSU 60/1 and Iowa 75/1. Meatchicken is 80/1.

Top QB recruit Gunner Kiel picks Indiana.

Wow.

Damn shame he's going to get beat half to death for the next 3-4 years.

Remember when IU stole Upper Arlington star QB, Ted McNulty, from under Woody's nose? He started against the bucks in Columbus and the poor kid was looking out of the ear hole of his helmet by the middle of the first quarter. It was not a pretty sight.

They did have a fine pick in Randel El, but I don't recall how high he was rated prior to signing.

They snuck Trent Green in there as well.

.....and I think that about exhausts my knowledge of good IU QB's of the last 50 years.

A coworker, who portends to be a buckeye fan said something really stupid yesterday. It went "there's no way Ohio State loses less than 5 games this year". He mentioned Cryami, MSU, Neb, Wisky and scUM as definite losses and probably one more.

I immediately put a $100 bet to him, unsure if he actually believed this ridiculous claim and sure enough, he boldly accepted. If we lose 5 games, I'm out a c-note :slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy:

Were I a man of greater resources (or intent/interest in gambling--which I never do, btw), I would've made it 1k.

Didn't matter that I even tried to make sure he really believed it. I went through the schedule game by game and pointed out the discrepancies in his theory. 2 games, sure. 3, an absolute possibility. 4 would be the roof caving in and 5 games would assure the apocalypse wasn't going to wait til 2012. The fact that he thinks scUM is going to secure his windfall made it the hilariously high note of my day.

Someone has to punish this kind of stupidity and I don't mind if I'm rewarded for my efforts.

That kind of stupidity is likely to welsh on the bet.
