^^Man, looks like things are moving out of our favor. Anderson's a surprise, I thought the offer put us on top.

I'll take the BPRT over Farrell. This was is from a month ago, but still worth noting:

DT Sharrif Floyd - Reminds me of 2005 DT prospects Callahan Bright and Marques Slocum - same home town (Philadelphia), similar size, similar talent, similar academic issues ... Ohio State leads, but prep school might be his next stop ... I'm actually hearing he'll be a qualifier... And the good guys lead BIG for this one. Ohio State out front with UF behind and at least one more official left to either South Carolina or North Carolina...Buckeye soon..qualifying is the only question. I think he is a Buckeye...too much positive info out there.

DB Latwan Anderson - This kids seems to have turned things around under the tutelage of Ted Ginn, Sr. ... if he stays on course, then he's a Buckeye ... Agreed. Another one that if he can clear admissions he'll don the Scarlet & Gray. Buckeye. Get it done in the classroom and this one is a slam dunk.

With most 5* type of recruits, if it's late in the game, I take a pessimistic approach. Just a pretty pragmatic thing to do, in my opinion.. Not getting your hopes up and whatnot.

With Glenville recruits... I assume they're coming here. It tends to work out pretty well. I'll believe he's not coming here when he signs with someone else. If that happens.. Well, it would suck, and I would be shocked, but we would move on. But I'm betting tOSU.

I keep reading a lot of doom & gloom on here.

We're Ohio State no matter who suits up for us. We'll be fine. Sure, it'd be nice to get a few of these kids in S&G, but nothing to lose any sleep over. I have a feeling some are losing sleep over it.

Chill.. it'll be ok.

Floyd I'm pretty sure was all Buckeye not long ago, remember it wasn't too long ago that the Florida rumors started swirling.

Anderson I still believe could go any way. Rivals has been wrong indeed plenty of times, but I'm hoping they're dead on with Floyd. I wish I knew who the heck he was surprising. He probably figured we lead (According to the media), so the surprise seems more than likely that he's a Gator. I don't know, I just hope for the best...

Lemming Blog

Kickoff in San Antonio
By Second Season
on January 6, 2010 5:06 PM

Most of the best high school football players in the nation will participate in the ninth annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl at noon on Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The game will be televised on NBC, Ch. 5 in Chicago.

With all due respect to the UnderArmour all-star game that was played last week, an overwhelming majority of talent will be on display in the U.S. Army game. The top four players in the nation are in San Antonio. And five Chicago area products will participate.
...
And Fremd's Christian Lombard is the second best offensive lineman on the field, behind only 6-8, 350-pound Seantrel Henderson of St. Paul, Minn., who is a lock as the No. 1 player in the country. Henderson is drawing raves from other players who hadn't seen him before this week. Henderson said he will wait until the February signing date to make his college decision--either Ohio State, USC, Florida, Notre Dame, Iowa, Minnesota or Oklahoma. He said he has no favorite at this time.
...
Maybe the best of all will be Sharrif Floyd of Philadelphia, Pa., who as emerged as the best defensive tackle in the nation. He likely will pick Florida, North Carolina or Penn State.

My only thing is this:

Isn't this game Lemming's baby? In coordination with NBC I would think that he would have solid information.

It is obviously in NBC's best interests to keep the rumors swirling as it guarantees people like me tuning in to watch.

Floyd to PSU would not surprise me at this point and neither would Floyd to UF. Floyd to Ohio State would surprise me at this point. It seems that this happens every year. It has nothing to do with Coach Tressel or the recruiting at Ohio State. Obviously the recruiting at Ohio State is second to none. Ohio State will contend for a NC next season regardless of what these guys decide.

I just look at past practice with OOS kids and this game. When is the last time we had a kid announce for Ohio State that had this kind of stuff surrounding their announcement? Ohio State does not fare well with OOS kids who seem to be drumming up drama surrounding their announcements. I'm not saying Shariff is doing this, but I think the people in charge of the game are as responsible as anyone. Floating positive rumors or negative rumors about the kids favorite schools peaks interest in the game.

.

Lemming and solid information are two things that cant ever be used in the same sentence without laughing. Lemming is one of the worst recruiting "experts" there is in terms of is actual connections. I still remember the Lorenzo Booker incident with him on Espn...priceless.

I see where you are coming from and not just with the OOS kids. Names like Davis, Boyd and McCoy come to mind. However, names like Pryor and Marcus Hall also come to mind. OSU will get its fair share. Maybe it will be OSU's day come Saturday.
