2010 TSUN arguments & shenanigans (in-season)

This is a ridiculous, regurgitated argument that gets thoroughly discredited and proven to be a bunch of B.S. year after year via the NFL draft.

Speaking of offensive lineman, I suggest you re-watch some Michigan games from this year. Patrick Omameh is only a RS Soph. but he's probably the best NFL guard prospect in the entire B10 conference, he's only starting to scratch the surface. Taylor Lewan is only a RS Fr. that has started like 3 games and he just might be one of the best NFL LT prospect in the entire B10 conference. The guys from the O-Zone that write Michigan Monday rave about Lewan.

I also find it hysterical that you say Rich will never get elite recruits, when according to Rivals, in 2008 (his first recruiting class) 17 of Michigan's 24 signees were 4*'s. In 2009 (his second recruiting class) of Michigan's 22 signees, 14 of Michigan's signees were 4*'s, 1 was a 5*.

So what exactly is an elite recruit? 5*? Well, if you look at Rivals' rankings from the past, Michigan didn't exactly sign multiple 5*'s every year under Carr. It's not like we were USC.

According to Rivals rankings, Rich's recruiting took a little bit of a dip in 2010 and it's not off to a great start in 2011, but I think going 8-16 in his first two seasons, the talk of him getting fired, and the looming NCAA investigation probably had 99% to do with this fact.

Kids are going to want to go where they can win and where they can play. As long as Michigan can keep you know, winning games, and not implode, Rich's seat will be a lot less hot and he'll get his fair share of "elite" recruits, and he's about to get one this Friday when Dee Hart announces for Michigan. Hart, by the way, is rated as the #37 player in the country and the #1 All-Purpose RB in the nation by Rivals. Is that elite enough?

No, that isn't elite enough. When half of your 4 star recruits are slots that are smaller than 6 feet, it isn't scaring anybody or building an elite team. Again, it's not going to happen with an elite class of recruits.

Take a look at your last two years of recruits, and look at who their other big offers were. It isn't very flattering. While you'll bring in several bigger names per class, the overall class isn't where you would expect an elite program, and it never will be under Rodriguez.

Not when players want to go to the league.

These bolded statements proves to me that you know very little about what makes an NFL OL as neither of these guys have been touted as such by actual NFL scouts. Also, the fucked up blocking schemes that the spread has them do in college makes them absolute projects at the next level because it is a totally different mindset.

Take off your piss and bruised glasses before making such bold and foolish statements.

Wow. If Tressel saved 100 babies from a burning day-care, it would be a PR stunt according to these people:

I don't get the absolute hatred over there for Tressel. I make fun of RR, but don't hate the guy. Even when Carr/Moeller were beating the Buckeyes way back when, I never hated them to level these people hate Tressel.

So they criticize Tressel's course in that thread, but I don't see any mention of the course about Day-Timers in AA a couple of years back.

Funny. When Coop was going 2-10-1, not a single TSUN fuck gave two shits about anything going on in C-Bus. Now that they've had their dicks kicked in for eight out of nine years, they'll throw shit against the walls all fuckin' day.

Michigan fans forming an uninformed opinion on Tressel without doing any looking into it on their own; feeding into their cynicism of Tressel for no reason other than he's a Buckeye.

Sounds like they're becoming awfully similar to the Free Press that they so love to hate and speak ill about. Grow up.

Let's take a moment to canoe down this muddy stream of semiconsciousness. Wear your rubber boots and industrial-strength rain garb.
This is made-up class for football players!

Um, okay, no, it's for getting non-players to spy on local high schools!

I refuse to look up Woody's class content, and thus they are proven bull!

Football players are getting credit for easy questions!

No wait, it isn't for players because Tressel is so slick and manipulative!

I know nothing about Vietnam, so here is my take on it!

I have no knowledge of NCAA violations, so take that as proof they exist!

OMGWTFBBQTERRORISTS!

Tressel "manages" things. We all know what that means!

Clearly someone else does all the work preparing this class and tells Tressel what to say. I know this based on my solid grasp on ignorance regarding a class that I've already had to admit was not an easy out for football players as was the point of this entire diatribe.
[insert post about Bo's classes]

I call bullshit
Without further details/evidence. Sorry.
Certified JEENYUS, oh yes he is.

There are some reasonable folks on that page. The original poster is not one of them.

Had to go through quite a few replies before some sanity and a little thing called the "facts" came out. Not all Scum fans are delusional....

They did a story on this course for Gameday or some media outlet. Interesting facts about the course:
Only one football player has taken it and he got a B at the time.
Students are required to go to high schools and break down game film. I know this gives him an advantage in having some recruiting work done for him. But precludes football players from taking the class, plus they won't wake up for the morning class anyway. Students interviewed did not consider it a blowoff class.
Tressell doesn't have to teach this class. He could pass go and collect is 3 million per year. The fact that he gives his time to the general student body, even a small amount, is saying something.
Hate that the Sweatervest beats us, and plays boring football. He runs a relatively clean program, doesn't stuff his recruiting classes and all in all is a worthy adversary.

Here is another gem from a Scum fan.....Makes me proud to have JT as our coach.....:osu:

Here's a Jim Tressel story for you: I used to work with a woman whose grandson was a good-but-not-great high school football player (he's now a preferred walk-on at Toledo). She wrote Tressel a letter telling him about her grandson and her hope that he could play at OSU. Now, Tressel must have known that the kid was not Big Ten material, but not long after the letter went out, Dick Tressel showed up at the kid's high school and talked to the kid about his future. The kid also got an invitation to the OSU football camp, a great opportunity to showcase his skills. Tressel gained nothing (from a purely selfish perspective) by trying to help this kid but he did it anyway...I'm sure you can come up with a cynical explantion of what Tressel did here (as with his class) but cynical reasons can be read into any good act.

Out of a ridiculous post, this might be the most absurd. Don't you think that RR has utterly failed to satisfy the conditional part of this statement?
