2010 TSUN arguments & shenanigans (in-season)

So let me get this straight.... OSU wins a road game against a 2-1 Illinois team. A game in which our starting QB goes down and we still win by 2 scores and we are overrated....

scUM beats Indiana and Mass by 1 touchdown and they are all world. The more I think about it the more confused I get.

I am fully convinced this is Karmic retribution for the Cooper years. I remember being excited all year too... riiigghhht up until the point where we would implode at years end. Sweet sweet Karma. Similar except Coop could actually recruit.

Oh yeah, and @#$% Tim Biakabatuka for good measure.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say he was a semi illiterate douche then as well.
I started following his antics in the months after DickRod's hire during TP's recruitment...right around the time he started accusing tOSU of paying him to come here. So I can't say for sure, but I'd tend to agree with Jax.

Checked the stats -- PSU scored 49.2 ppg in 1980 and Houston scored 53 ppg in 1989.

PSU did not score anywhere near that in 1980...in fact, they averaged less than 27 ppg. You definitely have the wrong year.

Houston averaged that much because they fucking scored 95 against SMU (the first year after SMU came back after not having a team for two years under the death penalty) and 69 against UNLV. TAMU held them to 13 points, and they scored under 40 points two other times.

Maybe '94 for PSU? Nope, just checked, that team averaged 47...but that's close. Thing is, they did have a decent defense as well. That's what's mind boggling about this whole thing with beaver. NO TEAM scores 40 points every single game. NOBODY. Eventually, somebody will have a bad game or some defense will slow you down. What we're seeing is scUM beginning to go where most of us thought DR would take them...really good on offense, bad on defense. That's good for a lot of 9-4 / 10-3 type seasons. You cannot win a championship with a bad defense. Just can't do it. And those 9-4 / 10-3 type seasons got the last guy (who gave them their only NC since the Truman administration) run out of town. That's called a "lateral move".

Funny thing about gbw...the atmosphere over there is exactly where it was last year at this time. Only last year it was "Tate 4 Heisman!!!!!11!!1!!).

Not to suggest that any of the defense's UM has faced have been even remotely decent, but the numbers are a bit skewed by the fact that UM's defense is soooo bad that they have only had one blowout in 5 games, whereas OSU has had 3 blowouts where the starters sit at least the 4th quarter. If TP and crew were going all out for 3.5-4 quarters (like Shoelace and co. have been), certainly the defenses OSU has faced would look even worse.

But TP would look even better............

Beaver is a fucking idiot though, wowwwwwww. Alabama already proved last year that Defense still wins championships. He acts like Denard is the second coming of Jesus Christ and is going to "change College football FOREVER."

Keep in mind, this is all coming from a guy who was flaming his own subscribers the other night because they had the temerity to express concern over the play of their defense. If you're not there to bow at the feet of DickRod, masturbate to denard's hair or just marvel in his "greatness", you're a hater. It's absurd. As soon as they lose a game because of that defense, that board is going to have a magnificent meltdown.

But it's ok NF, defense doesn't matter anymore!! It's all about the spread!!!!!! who cares about anything else, Denard Robinson will save you all!!!! Flock sheep, flock!!!!!! 2 more years and college football will be changed forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

have finally seen the light -- Spread Teams develop in a different way ... and in two years (or maybe next year) it'll change college FB, maybe forever.

... you start putting elite kids with a Spread-Genius ... I just think it throws out the old conventional wisdom -- especially the traditional notion that defenses win championships ... that notion could be passe' in 2 more years.

I don't know about you guys but to me it sounds like he is saying they have a decided schematic advantage.

Okay, not post padding sorry, but he also completely ignores that we just beat Oregon 9 months ago in the Rose Bowl, not that this year is last year, but now we would "get smashed by them." hahahahaha You must be kidding me. Please tell me he is not a Michigan Alum because I thought it was supposed to be one of the best schools in the country. He's like a child or a flaming scout poster. Are these really the kind of tards that Michigan breeds?

Another thing I keep reading all over the scUM boards from posters and pundits alike is that "time of possession is a completely meaningless stat". Yeah, we'll see how useless it is when their already horrific defense can't even waddle onto the field after average 40 minutes a game...
