2010 TSUN arguments & shenanigans (in-season)

Okay, not post padding sorry, but he also completely ignores that we just beat Oregon 9 months ago in the Rose Bowl, not that this year is last year, but now we would "get smashed by them." hahahahaha You must be kidding me. Please tell me he is not a Michigan Alum because I thought it was supposed to be one of the best schools in the country. He's like a child or a flaming scout poster. Are these really the kind of tards that Michigan breeds?
Yes, he is an alum...supposedly...and yes, that is the kind of tards that they breed.

You can't make this stuff up, unless you have a lot of experience

Until the NFL adopts a zone read scheme with a base of the spread offense, no elite athletes will ever attend UM. They may snag a player here or there, but again, they will NEVER be able to recruit elite level talent.

As exciting as Denard Robinson is, the fact that he's Danny Woodhead at the next level isn't something a QB who wants to play QB in the NFL is going to be enamored by.

Offensive lineman that want to make it to the league?? D-Rod's offense will never prepare for them for what they'd see on Sunday.

This is my biggest issue with Michigan homers...could D-Rod get Michigan to a solid level? Sure. Will he ever do it with elite recruits? That's a resounding no.

If Demetrius Hart commits later this week, it'll be our best recruit to date.

Like I said, you'll get a few big time players here and there, but overall the elite players have their eye on a program that will develop them for the NFL.

Michigan's current system doesn't do that. Between high school coaches who understand this and negative recruiting by coaches who put more players in the NFL year in and year out it just will not happen.

If D-Rod can coach his players up to win in his system, more power to him. It just won't be what Thomas Beaver believes in that crazy rant he just wrote.

Dee Hart is an excellent back and will do good things in Ann Arbor. He'll compliment Denard nicely (I'm not sure that he's going to be an unstoppable force right away like is being sold elsewhere), but they still will have that defense.

Mike Martin has 0-1 years left, depending on his NFL stock & decision.
Craig Roh will still be struggling in space rather than rushing the passer like he should.
Will Big Will finally turn things around?
Ezeh has been so awful yet no one behind him can unseat him. The alternative the coaches don't trust will be forced to start next year. Demens seems like he could help here but he continues to get stuck behind Obi, who is a jack of many mistakes & a master of all.
Mouton has to be replaced. Not a great player but a lot better than Leach & Fitzgerald.
JT Floyd will still be starting at corner, and be complimented by a 2nd year corner.
Cameron Gordon will still be a LB playing safety.
Jordan Kovacs will still be starting.

A more developed, 2nd year Jibreel Black & some S/LB hybrids in Carvin & Marvin (the kind of player UM already had as a strength in 09 in Stevie Brown) are not enough to fix this defense, and there do not appear to be any promising fixes at LB coming any time soon.

PSU did not score anywhere near that in 1980...in fact, they averaged less than 27 ppg. You definitely have the wrong year.

Houston averaged that much because they fucking scored 95 against SMU (the first year after SMU came back after not having a team for two years under the death penalty) and 69 against UNLV. TAMU held them to 13 points, and they scored under 40 points two other times.

In my post, PSU = Portland State, not Penn State. Sorry for the confusion. Portland was in DII at the time, I believe (and may still be). You're right about the 95 -- Portland also had a game somewhere in the 90's, I think. I remember Lomax throwing something like seven TDs in one *quarter*.

Houston also pounded a weak-ass Texas team that year, though they didn't break 50 in that game.

Still, your original point holds. NFW Michigan is never going to have a 50-60 ppg offense.

This is a ridiculous, regurgitated argument that gets thoroughly discredited and proven to be a bunch of B.S. year after year via the NFL draft.

Speaking of offensive lineman, I suggest you re-watch some Michigan games from this year. Patrick Omameh is only a RS Soph. but he's probably the best NFL guard prospect in the entire B10 conference, he's only starting to scratch the surface. Taylor Lewan is only a RS Fr. that has started like 3 games and he just might be one of the best NFL LT prospect in the entire B10 conference. The guys from the O-Zone that write Michigan Monday rave about Lewan.

I also find it hysterical that you say Rich will never get elite recruits, when according to Rivals, in 2008 (his first recruiting class) 17 of Michigan's 24 signees were 4*'s. In 2009 (his second recruiting class) of Michigan's 22 signees, 14 of Michigan's signees were 4*'s, 1 was a 5*.

So what exactly is an elite recruit? 5*? Well, if you look at Rivals' rankings from the past, Michigan didn't exactly sign multiple 5*'s every year under Carr. It's not like we were USC.

According to Rivals rankings, Rich's recruiting took a little bit of a dip in 2010 and it's not off to a great start in 2011, but I think going 8-16 in his first two seasons, the talk of him getting fired, and the looming NCAA investigation probably had 99% to do with this fact.

Kids are going to want to go where they can win and where they can play. As long as Michigan can keep you know, winning games, and not implode, Rich's seat will be a lot less hot and he'll get his fair share of "elite" recruits, and he's about to get one this Friday when Dee Hart announces for Michigan. Hart, by the way, is rated as the #37 player in the country and the #1 All-Purpose RB in the nation by Rivals. Is that elite enough?

The thing about recruiting is that it is not an exact science; you never really know who for sure will be a great college player and who will not be. Heck, according to Scout this guy was just the "16th best cornerback" available a couple years ago:
