4. Will Glenpool rush to a district crown?
Glenpool tailback Marco Nelson has dueled against several top running backs, including Bixby's DeWitt Jennings III earlier this year. But he'll struggle to find a pair of backs as talented as those of tonight's opponent, OKC Star Spencer.

"I told somebody earlier that two of the best running backs in the country, anywhere, are going to be there," Glenpool coach Steve Edwards said. "Nelson and the two kids from Star Spencer are going to put on a show."

Nelson, a Tulsa commit, has locked up his third consecutive 1,000-yard season and is averaging 15.5 yards per carry.

Star Spencer's Darwin Rideau is a three-star recruit and has drawn interest from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ohio State and Virginia Tech, according to Rivals.com. Terence Olds has also rushed for more than 500 yards.

Glenpool is aiming for its 24th consecutive win, and a victory at home would cap off a perfect 10-0 regular season.

The winner will be the champion in District 4A-2 and the favorite to win state. "Whatever happens in this game... we could end up seeing each other in the state finals," Edwards said. "I think it'll be a fun one to watch."

I know rankings don't mean too much because alot of players with high rankings wont pan out and players with low rankings will but the fact we have a chance to land 5 5 star players is pretty cool to me. Landing Floyd, Henderson, Anderson, Joyner and Hicks would be insane. :oh:

Just a hypothetical question, but if the Hamburglar aka Charlie Weis is canned this year, what to make of the already committed players, would that be beneficial for tOSU or do many of u see those players sticking to theirs commits because they want to play for ND and not just for Weis?

Checking back it seemed like only Welch & Jones are the ND commits that we were in on.

But if anything it helps us with guys we are currently fighting over (Henderson & Joyner)

There's only three from their team I can think of that OSU went very hard at.

  • QB Andrew Hendrix - Doubt he'd switch schools. Especially to OSU with Graham. He could very well start at ND next year if Crist is hurt bad (I haven't heard the latest on this?).
  • WR Tai-ler Jones - If he switched, I don't think OSU would be high on his list but I could be wrong. WR isn't really a position of need anyway.
  • TE Alex Welch - This one is probably the most likely to switch to OSU, but that's only because the other two are like 0.1%.
I don't see any of them switching. Especially if they hire a coach like Brian Kelly, it could have the opposite effect with someone like Matt James.

I don't know why CLausen would stick around a mediocre program for another year, so he's good as gone. And with Crist being out for a while, wow, that kind of kills their depth at QB. Makes sense for Hendrix to stay there and put up some stats and guide a 7-8(maybe) win team

Clausen has alot of competition this year in the draft at QB, not nearly as much next year.

Jake Locker, Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford, Jevan Snead, even Tebow.

Next year he'd only have Mallett, and Jimmy is far better. Of course Snead could return too, but still, he'd be the #1 in that class. This year, Locker is likely the #1.

The top teams in the draft this year don't need alot of QB's.....Kansas City, Tampa Bay, Detroit, etc. are all set at QB. Cleveland and St. Louis are the ones that need a QB, so it'll be a crapshoot for him. Miss on one of those teams and he'll drop a bit, losing alot of $ in the process.

Forgive my skepticism, but I find this highly unlikely.

NFL scouts are very, very high on Locker. As are many other scouting services, i.e. scouts at NFL Network, ESPN (although I don't consider Kiper or McShay's input very valuable), etc. I do like Mayock's recruiting though.

OneBuckeye,

Do you have a link for this? I know they WANT a structured draft contract parameters to be put in place, but I haven't seen anything that said it was anywhere near being put up, let alone passed.

Locker hasn't done squat worthy of a high NFL draft spot. Bradford's injury issues will come into play. Tebow is a great college QB but still hasn't shown he's worthy of being a first-round NFL QB. That leaves McCoy and Snead as true draft competition, and Snead hasn't exactly been lighting it up this year.
