brutus2002;1572637; said:On offense Michigan takes some serious hits. The 2 best backs Michigan has are gone...3rd best back isn't even in the same zip code as them.
brutus2002;1572637; said:Losing 3 starting OL is not gonna help either.
brutus2002;1572637; said:Alot of the most talented Wolverines leave this year. Both OL and DL next year will be something to watch...I think the running game is a close second.
brutus2002;1572637; said:IMO Tate doesn't make it through the PSU game.
brutus2002;1572637; said:Robinson will not win you games...he cannot throw H.S. level passes.
Merih;1573017; said:And who on the roster has more pure WR talent than Greg Matthews? He snags those tough catches and even in the spread you need a strong handed possesion wide receiver. He would be the perfect "Avant" to someone's "Edwards" but the team is just not built that way anymore.
And now you have no one to man the quick spot.Do you even watch the games? Seriously. Graham is no doubt a great player, but the defensive line is not a joke. If anything the defensive line is probably the only legit unit of the defense. The linebackers have serious issues as does the secondary.
We will miss Brandon greatly as he is an amazing player, but my guess is that Craig Roh who checks in at around the 240's right now will probably be north of 250 or even close to 260 and start at Graham's spot next season.
That and the fact that RBs is probably the easiest position to find talent as well as utilize inexperienced players.Losing Minor might prove tough, as he is a very powerful runner but Mike Shaw is very similar to Carlos Brown, and in fact I think he might actually be better right now. Carlos Brown is very limited as a runner, does not have the greatest vision or very good agility either. Great straight-line speed, but Shaw seems to have the agility that Brown is lacking and even better straight-line speed. Michigan will be just fine at RB, I think.
It was supposed to be a strength of the team this season though, and I'm not sure that was the case.Well, good thing we only lose 2 starting OL in Mark Ortmann and Dave Moosman. Which by the way neither one is our best lineman. Dave Molk is returning and he is by far our best lineman, as is Steve Schilling, who is by far our 2nd best lineman. Mark Hugye is a RS Soph who is in his first year starting, and he is returning as well. The Michigan OL should be a strength of the team next season. Moosman is the worst of the starting 5 of the OL right now, Ortmann is probably 3rd or 4th best.
I wouldn't count Warren as "back" at this point, particularly with his play so far.Brandon Graham, Stevie Brown, and Brandon Minor are the only major talent losses to graduation that I am seeing. I just don't see who "a lot of the most talented Wolverines leaving" are.
Most talented? Maybe, but certainly not the best... had a decent frosh campaign, mailed it in as a soph (that wasn't just the injury), and has had a pretty good junior campaign. Jackson was a lot more consistent as a player at UM, imo.I hope he stays, because Donovan is the best CB we've had since Woodson. Yes, I said it. He's better than Hall or Jackson.
Who contributes primarily as a blocker in this offense. There is this guy named uh, Darryl Stonum. He's by far the most talented WR we have and he's only a true sophomore.

I do. He was as unhappy as anyone last year, and next year will probably be another average year for the defense with the loss of Graham, and no suitable replacements for Ezeh or Mouton.Merih;1573022; said:I don't expect him to leave, but I wouldn't blame him in a draft without many surefire corners expected to come out. Same reason why I wouldn't be surprised if Chekwa of Ohio State comes out.

I'm implying the only early impact LB in this class is probably Marvin Robinson, and he's probably better suited for the spinner position, at least during his first season on campus.mbama1;1573030; said:Wait, I'm confused here. Ezeh and Mouton return. Or are you implying that is a bad thing? (which it is....)
