Just got back from that lovefest otherwise known as S&M on the Scout board and those turds think that 2010 will be their year. What the hell are they drinking???

Recruiting season and the arbitrary "we'll be good in x years in the future" talk are all fans of a losing program have. Its the time of year when its nothing but talk and speculation, no cold hard reality of the actual games being played.

One guy starts and says something like "if this, that and the other thing all happen we might be ok" and before you know it so many people build on it "this that and the other" are givens and they are speculating the upcoming teams place in history.

A lot of folks on this very board were guilty of that last year in hyping up the '08 team and unproven recruits. scUM and ND fans have been taking it to another level lately because, well their teams just flat out suck.

I'm not there and I'm not trying to biased but I think I know what is going on.

I think RR is trying to get scholarships open by forcing people out. That douche needs to realize there are only so many Pat Whites. He forced out a very good player in Mallett on purpose...it backfired on his ass. IMO the Threet transfer will backfire as well. He has no QB with much experience. Two true freshmen and two scrubs. Robinson is not ready to play...he needs a R.S. Tate is their only option. WOW talk about rolling the dice. Hes gonna have growing pains any way you slice it...all true freshmen do.

What RR doesn't understand is there is gonna be mass transfers. How many of these WR's and RB's are gonna stick around if they are buried on the depth chart...not many. See the Michigan faithful look at open scholarships as a positive but when your roster loses players with leadership and experience that hurts. Depth is a huge issue for Michigan on defense...and obviously QB.

RR still thinks hes in the BE.

So I found this post here. This is regarding the Boren transfer.

I like this one.......

Remember, it's the OSU student newspaper, The Lantern. They have to dumb it down for their audience. My translation of the article - Mike Boren never sees the field. As for his brother, I can't wait until he comes North this fall. Martin, Graham, Campbell, and Van Bergen will pound him back into the stone age. Good riddance.

What a dumbass since Mike is the father and played for Scum under Bo....:rofl:Yeah, I guess he will never see the field....

The AD's comments regarding the change in ticket prices begs for translation.

The average ticket price for Michigan football season-ticket holders will be $50 in 2009, a decrease from $53.57 in 2008.

U-M athletic director Bill Martin said the decision was made to help fans in the current economic climate.

"I just believe that in these economic times, we should find what we can do to help our fans," Martin said. "We should support them in any way we can.

Translation: "I screwed up big time by hiring this nimrod, who led us to a disastrous 9-loss season, including a loss to a Toledo team that got its only other wins last year over Eastern Michigan and Miami of Ohio. Not only that, we're hurting for money since when we were in Toledo 14 months ago we agreed to pay his buyout for West Virginia (but you can't quote me on that, since we forced him to settle that lawsuit so the University President and I wouldn't have to testify).

Since we still don't have a QB with a chance to survive the Big Ten season in this coach's offense, we'll suck again this year, and the only way to avoid the embarrassment of not selling out our expensively remodeled stadium is to lower ticket prices."

$3.57 discount after a 3 win season huh?

How about we undertake a pay as you go program Mr big time AD? Whats say they pay you on the way out if tsun wins and leave for free if tsun loses. Still think RR is the man under those conditions?

Hey Jax

What if RR has another 3-9 season and loses to his 3 biggest rivals again? Will they fire him and buy his contract out...what will they do then raise ticket prices 30 dollars to pay for the buyout:biggrin:

In all seriousness I think RR has longer than that even if he drops another sub .500 stink bomb. If he goes that soon Martin knows his ass is going with RR, so therefore I think it is in Martins best interest to keep product Rodriguez around as long as possible.

My way too early look at it all says .500ish season in 2009 (at best) and a 9-3 type year in 2010 that saves his job ala Free Willy in South Bend this year.

Transcript of today's live chat with UM recruiting guru Josh Helmholdt
FREE PRESS SPORTS STAFF ? February 20, 2009

10:30 Josh Helmholdt: Hello recruiting fans. I'm here and ready to answer your questions.

10:30 [Keith]: Lack of depth at defensive tackle appears to be a concern. Will there be any late additions to this year's class at that position?

10:32 Josh Helmholdt: The lack of available talent at the DT left in the 2009 class makes it unlikely they will add another one in the 2009 class. If there was one left out there, though, who was worthy of an offer they no doubt would still be targeting that guy. Look for them to recruit the position hard in 2010

10:32 [Matt (AA)]: Do we have a shot at Gardner, and who do you feel will be better, Gardner or Bolden?

10:33 Josh Helmholdt: Michigan definitely has a good shot at Inkster QB Devin Gardner. He dropped Ohio State this past week and that was the team he grew up following, so that increases Michigan's chances that much more. Right now they have a better shot of landing Gardner than Bolden.

10:33 [Wolverine4Life:] I hear Ricardo Miller is a stud, who is he actively helping to recruit to join him? Is he still planning a move to A2?

10:34 Josh Helmholdt: Ricardo and Eagle Lake, Fla., safety Marvin Robinson are very close friends and Robinson is one of Michigan's top targets, but Ricardo has also been chatting frequently with Cass Tech DB Dior Mathis and several others. He works as hard as any recruit to help recruit for Michigan... and yes, he is tentatively planning to enroll at AA Huron next fall.

So OSU was "dropped" by Gardner, a player to whom we never gave a scholarship offer? Gotta love how "UM recruiting gurus" are spinning things any way they can in an attempt to convince themselves that UM got the upper hand on OSU on a particular recruit.

Given the complete state of shit their football and MBB programs are in what else besides the completely subjective "sport" of recruiting do they have? There is no scoreboard to tell you Toledo just kicked your ass in recruiting, you can pretty much spin it anyway you want.
