The average ticket price for Michigan football season-ticket holders will be $50 in 2009, a decrease from $53.57 in 2008.
U-M athletic director Bill Martin said the decision was made to help fans in the current economic climate.
"I just believe that in these economic times, we should find what we can do to help our fans," Martin said. "We should support them in any way we can.

What if RR has another 3-9 season and loses to his 3 biggest rivals again? Will they fire him and buy his contract out...what will they do then raise ticket prices 30 dollars to pay for the buyout
Transcript of today's live chat with UM recruiting guru Josh Helmholdt
FREE PRESS SPORTS STAFF ? February 20, 2009
10:30 Josh Helmholdt: Hello recruiting fans. I'm here and ready to answer your questions.
10:30 [Keith]: Lack of depth at defensive tackle appears to be a concern. Will there be any late additions to this year's class at that position?
10:32 Josh Helmholdt: The lack of available talent at the DT left in the 2009 class makes it unlikely they will add another one in the 2009 class. If there was one left out there, though, who was worthy of an offer they no doubt would still be targeting that guy. Look for them to recruit the position hard in 2010
10:32 [Matt (AA)]: Do we have a shot at Gardner, and who do you feel will be better, Gardner or Bolden?
10:33 Josh Helmholdt: Michigan definitely has a good shot at Inkster QB Devin Gardner. He dropped Ohio State this past week and that was the team he grew up following, so that increases Michigan's chances that much more. Right now they have a better shot of landing Gardner than Bolden.
10:33 [Wolverine4Life:] I hear Ricardo Miller is a stud, who is he actively helping to recruit to join him? Is he still planning a move to A2?
10:34 Josh Helmholdt: Ricardo and Eagle Lake, Fla., safety Marvin Robinson are very close friends and Robinson is one of Michigan's top targets, but Ricardo has also been chatting frequently with Cass Tech DB Dior Mathis and several others. He works as hard as any recruit to help recruit for Michigan... and yes, he is tentatively planning to enroll at AA Huron next fall.
