One other point about that, I would like them to redo the experiment Fermi did under the University of Chicago's stadium, only use the more advanced version that they tested in the desert, under the Pig House. Now that is a Stadium rebuilding effort I could get behind
This could have the subsidiary benefit of ridding the US of that festering sore known as Detroit.

So we'd have to drive a little farther to enter Canada; so what? The price is small relative to the benefit derived.

I guess I am in the minority here, that has been clearly established. I hate Michigan with a passion, but I do respect them for what they have done in the past. Chances are, they will probably get back to being a big time program. I'm not sure that dick rod will be the guy to do so.

I guess I just get bored of reading the same chest bumping chat recycled over and over again........and kind of wanted to play the Devil's Advocate here. It's pretty apparent that everyone on this board is an above-average fan. Anyone that knows me knows that I loathe Michigan. It's also ok to shed your homer jacket from time to time and try to make some sense of larger scale argument. To me, that makes more sense then having a "I hate Michigan more than you do" chat. But then again, it's senseless to try to inject debatable debate into rivalry chat.

Back to the pissing contest.........:wink2:

The way I look at it is this...

If I'm going to fight someone, I'd rather it be "picking on someone my own size". If TSUN continues to suck as much as they do now...at what point does tOSU just become a bully?

Who the fuck cares when we become a bully? It's not like they aren't trying. They're just living up to their name.

Yeah, I lived it too. They weren't beating 3-9 teams during that period. They got to rip my fucking heart out every god damn year. I want that. I'll take a win every time. I WANT to beat them when they are undefeated. In fact, I'm now sure that they are fucking up on purpose, just to deny me the revenge I so badly want. FUCK YOU MICHIGAN!

It's nice to see someone of your advanced age embrace the internet, most folks who were around when Yost coached just enjoy rocking chairs and afghans :tongue2:

Just kidding, one of my many problems with scUM is their fans delusions about how great they are because of their overal record and that they won so many NC's, almost all of which were well before they were born (20-60 years before) Another point is their chest thumping about the team records from The Game. If you take Coops pitiful record out (how I wish) and the first 20 years of the "rivalry" they'd have little to brag about.

While I also feel better about beating them when they come into the game with a lot on the line, I figure that the skunk-bears will most assuredly return to respectability. I'll take thrashing a pitiful rr coached team for now. Maybe some of the scUM fans will learn humility (yeah right), at the very least, I'll have to see less scUM gear around central Ohio if they continue to suck.

I understand your point, but for me the "I hate Michigan more" business has the effect of keeping the rivalry important right now. Beating 3-8 Michigan might not feel the same for a kid who didn't grow up in the rivalry than beating 11-0 Michigan in 2006. True, we're just fans... but.. if WE keep the Michigan game important, The Game stays important. By kicking them when they're down, all we're saying is "Keep beating those fuckers...This games matters" Even if the records say otherwise. In other words.. and I don't know how many wins in a row it takes... but... at some point, a win will be a "given" and at that point, ya let your guard down... that's what is to be avoided, and I think hating Michigan while they're down helps keep the guard up.

Their performance on the field this year is important. If they miss a bowl game this year it will kill their recruiting. See what has happened to Zook recruiting...yep its went down. I know he has lost some assistants that recruited the Maryland /D.C. area well but its all dried up now. There is only so many years you can use the old "we are building things" or "I don't have the personell to fit my system".

Michigan is on the edge and IMO this year will tell you if they are stepping off.

The have an easy schedule OOC. IMO they lose to ND and WMU will be interesting. The losses on defense and maybe a first year QB will be interesting.

What will happen if Michigans top 3 rivals beat them again? Ouch!!! IMO its gonna happen. I don't know if the Michigan faithful will be able to handle another year as bad as last or one where they don't make a bowl. IMO if he doesn't make a bowl in 2010 or has a subpar year he is gone especially if the Buckeyes beat him the next two years and win a NC.

Interesting how OSU and UM fans have been arguing about Gardner, but both schools extended new QB offers in the last few days...OSU to Montana and Michigan to Jeffrey Godfrey. That's four QBs offered by UM now...Gardner, Bolden, Christian Green and Godfrey.
