2009 TSUN News (football only discussion)

Yes...........because we still lose that game. UF simply outclassed us, LSU was the better team......and as for USC, well they kicked our ass. I hate to say it, but it's true. Your are fooling yourself if you say that good competition does not help a team prepare for the big games. OSU has not had great competition inside of the Big Ten for a while now.

I'm not trying to play devil's advocate here......I am just trying to open up some of the narrow-minded vantage point that I feel some of our fans have adopted. Take off the blinders, the writing is on the wall man.

A strong scUM team isn't going to hone our competitive metal to help us go win our Bowl game. How many times during the 70's did you see both teams go lose their Bowl game? 2006 scUM was good, that didn't seem to help us with UF any.

The narrow mindedness is coming from those who still care what the rest of the B10 does like it will somehow help us in anything other than internet smack talk.

OSU controls its own destiny. Start winning some of these big OOC games and everything else will take care of itself. We don't need scUM to be good again for any of that.

BTW I could just as unscientifically say that more people agree with my POV than yours but much like conference superiority arguments its pointless. I don't really care.

Jax is right. Let us keep our wits about us....

We have taken scUM down the last 5 seasons, and some of us run around like it has been a routine for generations. I am 28.. I remember the 90's all too well.. those ass-clowns did their cherry best to ruin my season year after year, without exception. I was repeatedly told OSU was no good, and was never going to be any good, and they wanted me to believe it, and almost had me believing it. It took a lot of losses to get me to that point, and we are not even close to being equal yet in payback.

But we have a pretty good start.

I completely agree.

I am growing tired with this conversation, because I feel that my point is being lost.......perhaps we will continue it on another night. I too remember those days of Michigan dominance, I remember the days where I was sick for a week after a loss. You and I remember it from the side of a pissed off Ohio State fan. A fan of a team that was normally ranked in the top 10. A fan who was so pissed because their team lost when it counted the most.

Ohio State's program has not been where Michigan is now, not at for a while. When Michigan get's back to respectable, I will resume laughing at their shortcomings.

If people want to pile on me for my viewpoint that's fine. It doesn't make me any less of a fan, I'm just being a realist here.

Personally fellas, I want to see Michigan become a power once again. It's a lot more fun to beat them when they are good.

Fuck Michigan. I hope they suffer be because that's just what those arrogant fucks deserve. Schadenfreude this, mother fuckers...

Woah, woah, woah. We are merely two years removed from perhaps the most epic, most hyped and most important matchup in the history of the rivalry, and now it's been reduced to what, BG versus Toledo? I'm not buying it. Yes, year one of the DickRod era gave us an opportunity for a Woody-esque "they wouldn't let me go for three" beatdown, but let's not get blase about the whole deal. This is a wonderful time. A beautiful time. A time in which is it quite possible that OSU will beat Michigan for another four or five consecutive years. This won't last forever; the skunkbears will eventually rise up from their nest filled with fecal matter and again field something resembling a major college football team. In the meantime, let's think of the times they ruined seasons for Woody, Earle and Coop and kick these bastards while they're down.

Exactly.

Why anyone would ever voluntarily wish anything good on those pieces of human trash is beyond me.

I want to see the Big Ten get back to prominence. I am sick to tears of hearing about how slow we are, and how we choke. Quite frankly, it's true. We cannot dispel the notion that the Big Ten pretty much has sucked against the major powers of the past few years. It's fun to make fun of Michigan, but I view them the way you would view a little brother. It's cool for you to pick on them, and tease them......but when others do, you get a bit irritated after a while.

I agree with this more than I can express. Not neccissarily a "little brother"...but after traveling all accross the country, I can say that as much as listening to TSUN fans bothers me...it bothers me almost as much when I hear shit from fans of other confrences teams about Michigan and the overall state of the B10.

Our history as a football team is linked, whether you like it or not, with that of Michigan. Without each other, we become less important, less significant in the greater scheme of CFB. The Game is called "The Game", without some stupid nickname, because each of us has been a great program, historically speaking. There is a reason we don't refer to the Illinois game as "The Game"...and it's because that game didn't deserve it. No other game does. And while I believe TSUN will eventually be back to old form, and I'll enjoy every 42-7 game almost as much as any...I still want to rip their hearts out like in '06 much more than I want to beat them by a hundred.

I'm with Jax... It never gets old beating Michigan, and the fact that OSU has won the last 5 makes me no difference. 42-7 felt just as great as 14-3, which felt just as good as 42-39, which was just as nice as 25-21 which was just as exhilarating as 37-21.

If Michigan goes 0-11 up to the game next year, and the Buckeyes blast them 72-0 I will enjoy every minute of it. I like beating when they're up.. I like beating them when they're down...

As for the Big 10's reputation..... I guess I prefer a strong Big 10.. No. I do prefer it.. but, I don't give a shit, really. Ultimately, all conferences (I'm talking big confs) are pretty much the same. They all have their ups and downs.

Michigan won't be down forever, but I'm gonna keep on kicking em when they are.... Fuck them.

There was a time when that would just be a humorous comment. I love that it's a statement of fact now. :banger:
