Could be a ruse. But right now Michigan is in a number of recruiting battles. It can't be helpful to RR for him to be making statements like this.

The more I think about this the more I hope he does go to Michigan. I am enjoying their suffering, but I don't want the Big Ten to become the ACC. We need UM to come back and this has the potential to become serious.

If his interview holds keep on eye on on Roh and LaLota. They came on board in September when RR could still be selling a very different future. These kids have some very nice options.

LaLota is not list like most of the early enrollees in the UM database (which simply begins the application/enrollment process, as seen with Big Will's presence there). PSU fans have been boastful about Lalota's soft verbal for awhile, but that doesn't necessarily mean much.

I wouldn't cry for the ACC they are the first conference in the history of CFB to have 10 bowl teams. They destroyed the "awesome" SEC ass in head to head competition this year. In their 4 bowl games they represented very well. The NC and Miami games could have went their way. They ACC is not as good at the top as the B12 or SEC but they are deeper than any.

If this is indeed just a smokescreen, I'll be very curious what all the scUM posters who derided TP and called him a drama queen last year when he delayed his decision will have to say about Mr. Campbell coming on board. Also, if he does go elsewhere, the "afraid of competition excuse" will be pretty flimsy, so I'm sure it will be he's afraid of Barwis (!!!!!!!!11!!!1!).

I still don't understand why we never got involved in on Will C's recruitment when he decommitted. He's the big, nasty, space-eating NT that we so badly need, IMO. Maybe he's not the type of DL that Heacock prefers, but, damn it, it's about time we brought in some bodies like his (and, after all, we did find a 'ship for Shaq Rowell). I wonder, alternatively, if not getting involved with Campbell has been an indication of how the staff feel's they're doing with Adams.

You're assuming that decommitment involved sincere consideration of other schools.[quote[I wonder, alternatively, if not getting involved with Campbell has been an indication of how the staff feel's they're doing with Campbell[/quote]fixed it for you.

Report: Shafer agreed not to 'demean' Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- Former University of Michigan defensive coordinator Scott Shafer agreed not to demean or disparage his former employer as part of an agreement related to his resignation.
The Detroit Free Press obtained the agreement through the Freedom of Information Act and published details Sunday on its Web site.
The agreement says Shafer won't "demean or disparage the University of Michigan, the football program, or any of their employees." He also agreed to release the school from future legal action.
A message was left Sunday with an athletic department spokesman.
Wolverines coach Rich Rodriguez announced Shafer's departure Dec. 16. Rodriguez said they agreed the move would be in the best interest of the program following a season with a school-record nine losses.
What did they want to keep quiet? That purdue debacle, forcing Shafer to run a 3-3-5?

At this rate all he'll have to do is quote facts and figures. RR is taking care of the demeaning part just fine by himself.
