trust me, i am as ecstatic as the next person on here to witness the soap opera like drama going on in ann arbor (damn, it hurts my head just to type that whore's name). BUT, i still believe that in the end we need the state up north to be competitive. it is for the sake of this great rivalry and this conference.

I no longer believe that or care. Someone else from the B10 would step in and fill the void. As far as national perception goes how much of a boost did we get from them beating UF in '07? None.

OSU controls its own fate every time they play a big OOC game. Start winning those again and the state of the scUM program matters not.

Personally I don't care if they never win a game again. I want to see their program completely destroyed.

If Campbell picks Michigan I hope UM fans/insiders remember how many of them trashed Pryor for simply delaying his decision...

It wasn't the fact that he simply delayed making the biggest decision of his life thus far. It was the fact that he had the whole staff convinced that he was coming to AA. I totally agree what Will is doing is pretty stupid, and i don't like it all reguardless if he comes or not. That's not the way it should be handled, I don't agree with what he said and the way he is acting.

Michigan will come back - just as Alabama finally came back and as Nebraska will eventually come back. Alumni will continue to pour money in until it does. And the program name does carry some weight.

It may take longer than I thought and it may not come back to the level it was (and certainly not to the level their fans believe it was).

But I have to agree that there was something missing this year in beating a 3-8 team. It is much more satisfying to crush their hopes when they have some.

Beyond that, if the Midwest and schools like Michigan continue to lose players like Campbell to the SEC it is not good for anyone in the region including us.

If UM falls from a perennial second place (maybe even first once in a while) to a consistent 6th or so by definition somebody else will move up. But that doesn't mean that team will be better than they are today and it doesn't help our arguments to be taken seriously.

Beat anyone of (or more than one of) Florida, LSU or USC and we don't have a problem being taken seriously regardless of what happens in AA.

Our national respect issues begin and end with our performance in big OOC games.

Then there must be something wrong with me, because I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the second half when we beat the shit out of them 28-0, and could've scored more. Whether they're 0-11 or 11-0, it'll always be a thrill seeing them on the short end of a 35-point ass-beating in The Game.

Fuck Michigan.

ME TOO! BUT, is it necessarily a good thing for the next 10-15 years? That is the debate. I say, "no".
