That was great to see, but I am kinda pissed that we were dropped in both polls from 11 to 12 in the AP and 10 to 11 in the USA Today poll. But Va Tech gets a pass for barely beating East Carolina at home? They stay at 9 in both polls. :pissed:

Not a big yank at this point in the season....California deserved to move after spanking the Vols.

from Stuey Mandel's (a pollster) power rankings...

This has to be the first time in Power Rankings history that I've penalized a team for a loss by its rival. I was already uncomfortable placing OSU so high, and if Michigan was that overrated, the Buckeyes probably aren't far behind. Plus, Chris Wells only ran for 46 on Youngstown State.

Have to wonder how many others felt the same way.

Also have to wonder how many tOSU fans will e-mail him this week.:roll1:

Could a part of the reason Va Tech didn't plummet be empathy from the media after what transpired in April? I agree though - they didn't look sharp.

I thought Cal looked good as well, though the jury's out (IMHO) on Tennessee - I don't think they are a top 15 team.

As for scUM dropping out of the top 25, wow. It could either galvanize them or cause them to completely implode.

We will know over the next couple weeks, Oregon isn't that great this year, so if they wanna prove that it was a fluke (aka they choked, or as they call it on the dance floor, the Llllloyd-Shuffle) a good start would be to run the score up on em. Though neither team has any defense so it could just be a shootout, and with Oregon being unranked, that wouldn't exactly help their cause.

This works well for the other Michigan coaches...not Carr, he's a dipshit...wait, the other coaches are dipshits too...OK, this works well for the trainers and shit when they go into the locker roon and can say "See, no one thinks you guys are worth a log of armadillo shit anymore, what are you going to do about it?" I actually expect them to pound Oregon into oblivion this week.

I would like to congratulate Michigan, in their never-ending game of one upmanship with Notre Dame, for finally getting the upper hand!

Per AP Top-25 recaps circulating now:

Before Michigan's fall, Notre Dame held the ignominious record for largest drop in the rankings in the Top 25-era. The Fighting Irish dropped 16 spots -- from No. 9 to No. 25 -- after losing to Northwestern 17-15 on Sept. 3, 1995.

I agree. I'm thinking that Michigan beats Oregon by 14 points. The only thing that has me hesitant is the fact that Oregon can run the ball.
