scUM needs to man the fuck up. I hate their fucking guts, but this makes the conference look like shit. After both tOSU, scUM got basted in their bowl games last year, the last thing the big10 needed was for one of the big2 to get beat by a 1AA. It hillarious to laugh at them, but it really makes the whole big 10 look like shit.

Another thing I love about Michigans QB GOING INTO 08 IS THAT HE RUNS A 5.2 40!!!! Mallett has stone feet.

Mallet is the prototypical tsun QB for the 21st century.

-Big
-Immobile
-Jug handle ears
-Lloyd Christmas haircut

Navarre-->Henne-->Mallet

A phrase about repeating the same behavior and expecting different results comes to mind.

I think it was a lot more than that......I don't remember all of it. There was a safety because of a punt I remember.....and a missed XP.....probly more.

9/20/03 UO 31 UM 27

Link

Punt blocked for Oregon TD
Missed PAT
Blocked PAT
Fake punt fumbled at the 15, resulted in Oregon TD
Punt returned for an Oregon TD

By my math thats a 20 point swing in a game they lost by 4. Wow

As the author pointed out, it speaks volumes about the differnce in the 2 programs right now.

What I didn't see him say is how it affects next year already. They will be in complete rebuild mode with guys that aren't getting any PT this year.

We saw what happened to us in 2004 in very similar circumstances.

Very good point, but I see one major difference in the circumstances:
In 2004 we were fresh off a 10-2 campaign that ended in a bowl victory. The year before that was an NC.

scUM in '08 will be fresh off (something less than 10-2), with the year before having been a Cooperesque 11-2.

Didn't Oregon cash in on a lot of special teams fuck ups when they last played? That could spell more trouble for them this time around......Michigan's special teams suck as much as the D.

Blocked two punts IIRC (edit: as posted above, it was a blocked punt and a blocked PAT, among other things)... and sacked Navarre 6 or 7 times... i was in the Sports Books at Mandalay Bay and there was a group of Oregon fans there that were literally howling with laughter: "TIMMMMMBERRR! He's a TREE!!!"

Yes, our kids didn't get to play enough in '03 because A) the team was achieving great things and B) some shitbird RB left us high and dry, crippled our running attack and every game was a fight to the death because of it.

I may have A and B backwards.:wink2:

scUM Drops Out of Top 25 - AP/USA Today Polls

That was great to see, but I am kinda pissed that we were dropped in both polls from 11 to 12 in the AP and 10 to 11 in the USA Today poll. But Va Tech gets a pass for barely beating East Carolina at home? They stay at 9 in both polls. :pissed:

don't worry, when Va Tech loses to LSU by 30 it won't matter much.....assuming OSU takes care of business that is....

ESPN - Michigan on outside looking in at Top 25 - College Football

NEW YORK -- Thud!

The final fallout from a disastrous opening weekend for Michigan came Tuesday, when the Wolverines dropped all the way out of The Associated Press Top 25, an unprecedented fall from No. 5 to unranked.

Since the AP poll expanded to 25 teams in 1989, no team has taken a bigger tumble in one week.

After an opening college football weekend filled with blowouts and highlighted by Appalachian State's stunning 34-32 upset of Michigan at the Big House, there was little notable movement in the Top 25 other than the Wolverines.
